Summary
Leo waited. His leg was growing painfully numb under the ice. He wanted to rip the pack off and heave it across the room where it could shatter on the floor. Instead, he forced himself to stay quiet as he watched everyone disperse on their assignments, feeling his heartbeat inexplicably rise in his chest until he finally couldn’t stand it anymore.
“And me?” Leo looked to Splinter. “I know portaling is kinda off the table right now, but, you know, plans are still kinda my thing. Just give me a minute—an hour max—and I know I can come up with a place for us to stay...” Leo’s voice faded as Splinter placed a warm pink hand on top of his own, making it lay still.
“Do not worry, my baby blue.” He said, giving the back of his hand a pat, a soft smile reaching his furry face. “I know exactly where we will go.”

Leo knew losing an arm would be a hard change. He just didn’t know exactly how many changes he'd have to deal with. Turns out that narrowly avoiding the Krang apocalypse doesn't mean everything goes back to normal.
(Or my traumatized turtle boys spend some time recovering in the countryside because the author was listening to Noah Kahan’s Stick Season album A LOT)

Optimus is very warm, Bee notes distantly. Hotter than the conveyor without burning like the furnace. And he cuddles. A lot. It’s a little bit suffocating and takes a while to get used to, but it’s not bad.
He wonders if Optimus is lonely. Judging by how tightly his friend clings to him throughout the night, Bee is almost certain he knows the answer. He’ll just have to fill the missing gap. Easy.

Donatello was a scientist; he was used to having experiments fail or ideas backfire or creating sentient inventions that turned on him in the end. He was used to picking up the pieces, figuring out what went wrong, and ultimately starting over again, the next attempt having better results until finally, it worked.
But his dead brother wasn't an experiment. He couldn’t just pick up his pieces, figure out where he went wrong, and re-make him. Death didn’t work that way.
Or did it?(One shot in which Leo dies Post-movie and Donnie tries to fix that fact.)

“Alright. Now or never.” Raph says grimly, and they let go of each other’s hands and open their eyes. They don't look at Leo. Rude.
“If there are any spirits here tonight, we are searching for our brother, Hamato Leonardo.” Mikey says, reaching out to cup his candle’s flame. It smells like the ocean, and Leo can appreciate the use of blue candles if the seance is for-
The seance is for him?

It's hard to make peace with your death, but Leo did it anyway. To protect his family, to protect the world.
He finds it quite a bit harder to make peace with what comes after death.

Raph shoves Donnie and frowns. “Wait, new favourite-“
“Hold up!” Mikey whisper-screams, stopping Raph and Donnie’s light rough-housing. “Grandson? Why do you think he’s your grandson?”
Raph and Donnie freeze, both also turning to Splinter. The rat mutant frowns.
“Why wouldn’t I?”
“Wha- why would you?!” Mikey demands.

So they know Casey is someone’s son… but who? Definitely not Leo’s, he’s not flashy enough, and their brother shouldn’t be bothered with this new drama while he’s recovering. So they’ll just have to work it out without him!
And while they do that…
Leo will just keep watching Casey splinter apart.
