    Summary

War looms on the horizon—street riots spill out even to the foundations of the noble towers. The senate sinks deeper into corruption even as the Prime's paranoia threatens their power base. As Functionism creeps more and more into a rusting society, ordinary mechs struggle to stay afloat. And Jazz, owner of the shadiest venue this side of Iacon, has one more thing to worry about—a Praxian enforcer, frighteningly capable, investigating a string of murders that no one should have realized were connected.

    Summary

Megatron takes Optimus Prime as his conjunx bellum to end the war.

    He doesn’t expect trust.
    He doesn’t expect love.
And he definitely doesn’t expect the gods to take notice.

For the first time since the war’s end, Megatron feels the familiar sinking dread that the sacrifices he has demanded, of others and now of Optimus, are not leading Cybertron toward peace. That they will cost more than Megatron has any right to ask, and more than he is certain he can bear.
