Summary
When Madame Lan succumbed to her “lingering illness”, Qiheng-Jun emerged from his seclusion to take over the Lan Sect once again. The sect and the world he returned to did not resemble the one he’d abandoned for love’s sake. Unfortunately for him and his sons, the Elders insisted on a Furen. A very specific Furen who was not well-pleased with her marriage, her husband or her offspring ranking behind the sons of a presumed murderer.

“Without my approval?” Wen Ruohan asked, much less studied in his casual calm now.
Lan Xiangying raised an eyebrow at him. “And when has a Lan in a rage over the disrespect to a loved one ever cared if other people approved? Though, frankly, my Lady is the only reason that the Lan had not already swept out and destroyed the entirety of the Jin sect. She did not wish to upset her friend, you see.”
Wen Ruohan’s mouth worked for a moment. “…What?”
“I thought that we should execute Jin Guangshan and all of his cronies before putting Madame Jin on the throne,” Lan Xiangying explained cheerfully as every single Lan in the room nodded along with him.
“I told him and them not to be utter idiots,” Yu Ziyuan said, dry and amused as she leaned into Lan Xiangying’s side, tucked against his side and wrapped in his arm so that no one could see the faint tremor of her hands and knees.
It had been only a hundred days since A-Li’s birth. Using Zidian like that certainly had pushed his Lady’s strength, though she barely showed it even as close as they were.
Both of Wen Ruohan’s eyebrows went up as Lan Maioshu and the Jin healers slowly, casually, with no reverence at all flopped Jin Guangshan onto a stretcher that was carried out of the audience hall. With little care for not jarring him or effort taken to numb his pain.
Across the room, Cangse Sanren beamed at the two of them with delight even though Jiang Fengmian stared at Yu Ziyuan with smitten cow eyes while Wei Changze stared at the two of them in horror.
Actually…
That seemed to be the split in the room’s observers. About half looked at Yu Ziyuan as if she was a goddess walking the earth, which was of course appropriate. The other half stared at her in horror, which was also appropriate if a bit foolish to show.
Everyone, from Wen Ruohan on down, stared at Lan Xiangying as if he was a monster that they’d only just spotted. One that they couldn’t fight, couldn’t flee, and could never, ever understand.
Idiots, the lot of them.
“You know,” Wen Ruohan observed as he ran a thumbnail over his chin, “I never thought that you had it in you. I should’ve seen it.”
“You certainly should have,” Lan Xiangying agreed.

Summary
Just because Wei Wuxian and the Wen remnants found sanctuary with the Nie doesn’t mean all their problems are fixed. It does mean, however, their problems are a lot more fixable and/or a lot more ridiculous.
And Jin Guangyao tries to figure out where to go from here.

"Given your husband's ways, I am certainly serious about identifying my husband's sisters." For the first time Jiang Yanli's voice took on a hint of acid herself. "Who knows where they might be, after all?" She continued euphemistically, but the appalled silence that followed made it obvious that Madam Jin understood the implications.
"He does... like his ladies to be... young." Madam Jin finally whispered, appalled.
"Would it not be a good idea to find them and bring them here? For their protection?" Jiang Yanli was stills peaking softly, kindly, like she wasn't talking about the kind of search that might validly lead to the downfall of another chief cultivator. If Jin Guangshan had fathered a daughter on a prostitute and then left her to grow up in a brothel, it would be bad. If he had ever slept with her himself, it could genuinely send him into permanent seclusion, shunned by the entirety of the cultivation world.

Summary
Does it count as surgery if the patient is a sabre/spiritual weapon? If the answer is no, then it's probably just two surgeries, no mercy kill.
Two geniuses in a radish field can come up with a lot of theories bouncing their ideas off on another, and when one is the grandmaster of demonic cultivation and the other is the best medical doctor alive, there's no telling what they can come up with. Now they just need a hospital room to put theory into practice and the Nie sect is the lucky winner. No, really, the Nie Sect lucks out and life gets better for everyone.
