Robby feels like he could die. If Dennis pulled out a gun and shot him in the street Robby would let it happen and bleed out right here on the pavement. He almost wishes he does.
“I’m twice your age, kid. Doesn’t matter what I’ve felt.”
Dennis frowns, “M’ not some stupid kid.”
“I’m your boss.”
“No, you aren’t.” His voice has some jagged edge to it, harsh, “Not right now. Not tomorrow, or the next day. Not next month. Do you even plan on coming back, Dr. Robby? Or do you plan on getting killed on that fucking bike.”

After a chaotic day at the Pitt on the 4th of July, the crew goes out for Javadi's birthday and to celebrate Robby's sabbatical. Dennis especially needs a drink after how Robby has been touching him after he got whacked in the head by a patient.
Robby later finds himself driving Whitaker home.

And that was all the permission Whitaker needed to hear. There was a shift in his demeanor that took Robby by surprise momentarily, but there was no time to process it. Before Robby realized what was going on, Whitaker grabbed his hands and pinned them securely next to Robby's head on the bed. Robby instinctively attempted to move his hands and arms from Whitaker's grip, but failed, as Whitaker further showed off his farmhand strength and kept him pinned down.
"No, no, no," Whitaker said in a voice that shocked even him. "You're in it now, Dr. Robby. Neither of us are leaving this room until we are both satisfied."
Whitaker's sudden boldness made Robby audibly gulp, knowing he was helpless to resist him.
"I'm in trouble," Robby said in a soft, yet vulnerable voice. His eyes locking into Whitaker's, both starting to understand they sat at the point of no return, aching to never look back.
"You have no idea," Whitaker hungrily whispered.

— Yeah. God … yeah. That was Trinity, she must’ve heard you — Dennis rushed out, mortified. — I’m really sorry about that. She’s messing with me. I thought it would go unnoticed. Victoria even said it sounds like one of those sickly-sweet couple nicknames …
— Well… — Michael murmured, pressing a brief kiss to the side of Dennis’s neck, then another as he followed the line up to his ear. His voice dropped when he whispered, — Javadi is a very perceptive woman.

“It would be unwise,” Flint says. It is true, and he doesn’t mean it to sound like a concession, but he realizes too late that anything other than outright denial implies an invitation.
Silver’s face splits into a grin, triumphant and bright as sunlight, as if Flint has given him the most wondrous gift. He is far too close and steps closer still. The bravado returns in full force as Silver looks up at Flint and says, with all his practiced cheek, “But Captain, I am known for making terribly unwise decisions.”
“You’ve really never…?” Flint asks.
“No,” Silver admits. “I’ve wanted to though. Just never had a good opportunity.”
“And this strikes you as a good opportunity?” Flint asks dryly.
Silver’s eyes travel deliberately up and down Flint’s body; it's been a long time since anyone has looked at him with such open hunger. “Very,” he answers, voice dark and rough like velvet and Flint shivers. Silver may be inexperienced, but he certainly isn’t shy.

Summary
Flint whispers a quiet breath of hasty words against Silver’s mouth, “I fear if this continues, you will be the end of me.” And perhaps all of this, the war, this thing curling and knotting between them, all of it will end in a way neither of them quite anticipated. Silver can’t afford to waste too much thought on the idea. Not right now. Fate can wait its fucking turn.

In lieu of an answer, Silver slid his hand further up Flint’s thigh, watching carefully to gauge his reaction; he recognized the subtle signs of the effect he was having. This was dangerous, but he wasn’t wrong: Flint’s breath quickened, the rise and fall of his chest becoming visible; he was perfectly still but brimming with tension, muscles quivering, like a highly strung horse about to bolt.
