Love so strong it needs to be aired out or it takes hold within one's lungs, flowering in the dark and spilling from the afflicted's lips as delicate blossoms, until the poor, tragic sod finally chooses Tranquility or death.
Luckily for Emmrich, most of it was wildly exaggerated: Hanahaki disease, annoying and painful as it might be, wasn't deadly — and luckily, the feelings didn't have to be reciprocated, either.
