“I don’t do serious,” Bond tells him, leaning up on one elbow in bed. Q is pleasantly drowsy, trying to figure out how to politely kick a trained assassin out of his flat so he can get some real sleep. This wakes him up; he cuts his eyes over to Bond. He’s not joking. Q wants to sigh but that’ll just ruffle Bond’s feathers and he’ll be here even longer.
“I’m aware,” Q settles on. “This must be against regulation anyway, isn’t it?”
His quick, emotionless acquiescence seems to take Bond by surprise. Q imagines he’s built this all up in his head, Q pining for him and him nobly telling Q that the most they can ever be is an occasional fuck, etcetera, etcetera.

In Jud’s defense, it’s been a long fucking day. And not one that he’s keen to recount.
He’s kept the damn thing turned off for most of the day. As a rule, he stays fairly available on Sundays, but—well, extenuating circumstances call for extreme reactions. Thankfully, he had kept enough of his head after Mass to force a shutdown instead of what he wanted to do, which was to hurl it against the wall and watch it shatter into a million tiny pieces.

When Patrick knocks on the door of Art’s dorm, he’s not expecting it to be opened by his roommate - some blonde guy who’s pre-med or something, Patrick’s only spoken to him once before - and so he falters a little as he asks.
“Is Art about?”
The guy - Will, maybe? - frowns, his gaze flickering back into the room, at Art’s neatly made bed.
“Um… no. He’s gone.”
Patrick raises an eyebrow, something about Will’s tone making him suddenly very uncertain.
“Gone?”
His anxiety must bleed through, because Will’s quick to shake his head.
“Not like - gone gone, not like dropped out gone. Nah - he came back a couple of days ago after training and packed a bag, just said he was going away for a bit.”

He’s reminded, suddenly, of Marta: guilty only of a damaged trellis and a few amateur theatrics. Blanc had known from the beginning that she thought she was guilty, but hadn’t assured her of her innocence until checkmate. He did the same to Jud last night. Would he do the same again if it meant solving a case and bringing a murderer down, or bringing a wronged person justice? He knows he would, but it is not an easy thought.
In the immidiate aftermath of Martha's confession Jud has a small breakdown. Blanc helps him through it. Written as a companion piece for "Matthew 6:34."
