Summary
He mutters, "I'm not letting go until you tell me what you're going to do when you've crossed state lines."
"I told you," Robby huffs, "Beer. Hot apple cider. Maybe a chicken pot pie on the porch of some good Samaritan who takes pity on me."
"Yeah? Chicken pot pie?" Jack hums, raising his eyebrows, receiving an affirming nod from the other. "Gonna go on a stereotypical-ass spirit journey? That's what you're going to do, Michael? That's the reason you hugged me like that? Like you were savoring it?"

And Michael Robinavitch would have gotten away with it, too, if it weren't for Jack Abbot.

Did she have a tab now? What was a tab? When did she pay it? And how did they remember what she ordered? Many questions and few answers. She could ask Trinity and Whittaker when they arrived, but she was sure they’d laugh at her.
Better to leave it all a mystery and just hope she didn’t violate bar etiquette in the meantime.
Or: Javadi is hit on by a guy who’s too drunk to understand the word no. Enter Robby.

Summary
A second later, he finally blurts, “I need someone to help… Dr. Abbot is here.”
Samira checks her watch and finally looks up at how nervous Dennis is in the doorway. It’s not entirely unusual for Dr. Abbot to arrive an hour early to get a lay of the land before the night shift arrives.
“Help with what?”
“He looks really stressed. He said his calf muscle is burning, and he is feeling a sharp stabbing pain every 45 seconds.”
Samira nods in understanding and is already standing up, moving to the trash can to throw the half-sewn banana away. “ Did you look at his calf? Is the muscle injured?”
Dennis goes white and shakes his head no as he holds the break room door open for her to walk out. “He was talking about the right calf.”
Samira picks up her pace and follows Dennis to the side family room, where he stashed Jack. “You need to tell Robby.”

Crowley hadn’t fallen, that was something he was sure of.
He remembered each marbled step. Each movement that took him further from Heaven and closer to Hell.
He also recalled most of the steps he had taken before that.

Summary
Dean fucks up a lot; he knows he does. Drinks too much, shouts even more, and doesn’t know how to grieve without some unholy combination of the two. Uses his fists before his words, his rage before his reason. Sees a little more of his dad in the mirror every day and doesn’t like the look of it.
This isn’t a new problem, but it causes new complications.

Jack lay there for a moment, staring up at the concrete ceiling, heart pounding. The air felt too cold. Too thin. His hands trembled as he pressed them against the floor, instinctively trying to push himself up.
His leg screamed in protest.

Summary
is he being mugged right now?
He hears the guy yelling something at him, but in his panicked state, he can’t understand the words he’s saying.
He must not react fast enough for the other man, because his head is slammed back against the brick, and Dennis definitely can’t understand him now— not over the ringing in his ears.
He feels his backpack being pulled away from him, and he thrashes, kicking at the other man— connecting violently with his knee.
”YOU BITCH!”
Well, he understands that, at least.

Summary
After a disastrous final shift on July 4, Robby leaves for his sabbatical.
Eight days later, somewhere in the Badlands, he awakens to a dozen missed calls and messages from back home. Something terrible has happened. Frank Langdon has been shot, and he might not make it.
Consumed by worry and by guilt, Robby returns to Pittsburgh, the memory of his last, terrible conversation with Frank playing on a loop in his head.
He hopes it is not too late to make amends of his own.
“Is he dead?” Robby manages to rasp out. His body is curling in on itself. He can feel himself unravelling. It’s too familiar. It’s all too familiar. This can’t be happening. “Is Frank fucking dead, Dana?”

Summary
Robby wanted to reassure him, to reach for the words that he knew he had, to explain that Jack didn’t need to worry, nobody needed to worry, that this wasn’t a midlife crisis or a lack of attachment to his continued existence, that everything was always happening all the time, that sometimes walking into the Pitt felt like choking on something acrid burning in his chest, that his thoughts were always racing and people were always asking him things and he just wanted to escape, feel nothing in his chest but the rumble of asphalt and engine beneath him, the wind rushing in his ears and drowning out the alarms that hovered at the edges of his perception like hungry ghosts, and he was an eloquent goddamned man, he knew he was, but he couldn’t find the words. The layer of glass between him and the world, him and the man he wanted to be, him and the man everyone deserved — it was thick, leaded, double-glazed, institutional, a thin mesh of wires wrought through it to prevent it from shattering or being pierced with a bullet.Or: Robby buys a motorcycle. Jack does not approve.

“I’m coming,” Roy says, beckoning Phoebe to run and grab her backpack and pointing at her, himself, and the car, to Ms. Bowen. “Where are you?”
Jamie’s silent for a moment, and Roy hopes he knows he’s gonna be the reason Roy dies of a heart attack in his thirties.
“Manchester,” Jamie mumbles.
