    “Thank you for indulging me, Jess,” Lena said as they walked across the open floor plan workspace with collaboration areas and over to the smaller private offices along the perimeter. Jess led the way.

    “You’re the boss, Ms. Luthor,” Jess said, pulling a key card from her pocket and opening a door. “This is yours,” she said, entering first and standing aside for Lena to follow. “The drafting table you asked for is already here, and, as promised,” Jess said with a sigh, “no phone.”
