His heart leaps into his throat, but all the same Needles tries to speak. “How—How did you know my name?”
“I said I’m the one asking questions here. What do you want? Don’t lie.”
Needles, nervous and bewildered, answers, “You.” It falls out of his mouth so quickly, as if forced to spill into the air. His eyebrows furrow in his confusion, his hands wanting to come up and cover his mouth as he wonders why he’d just admitted that.
