Summary
We all know Astarion died about two hundred years ago.
But what if he didn’t?
What if he was saved before the final fatal blows?
Alas, while Astarion’s life was saved, nothing will ever be the same again.
Healing magic can only do so much, especially if there was no trained healer on the scene for his poor battered & broken body. The former magistrate is now disabled, with both temporary and permanent conditions. Amongst the latter is the inability to properly speak. He can understand what is being said, for the most part, but responding? A fair bit more difficult. Almost impossible, really. The wonderful world of brain damage…
When the story begins, he has been recovering for roughly a month, coming to terms with his new limitations and who it was that saved him. His mother of all people! Retired adventures never forget some tricks, even if they have spent the past few decades playing at being a proper noble wife.
Everything gets more complicated as he realizes certain things about his family, things he was willfully blind to, but now sees all too clearly, out of the one eye that still works, anyway.

Summary
Wriothesley’s scent lingers in Neuvillette’s office long after he retires for the evening – earlier than usual. Tea, the snap of pine, and the sharpness of metal; dark and dank from the depths of Meropide.
Neuvillette pulls a hand down his face. Releases a breath long held through their meeting. Desire curls tight in his gut, and he aches. Yearns for Wriothesley. For the cut of teeth into tender flesh, and the mark of a man who is, frankly, genetically and perfectly compatible.
- Neuvillette pines for Wriothesley, taking pleasure in his office long after their meeting is over, unaware that he is on the precipice of a rut.

Summary
After a tragic incident made him forsake his work as a sailor, Wriothesley leads a relatively peaceful life as a lighthouse keeper instead – until one stormy night, he unexpectedly falls under the spell of a vicious siren. Miraculously, he manages to break through the hypnosis, but the monster continues to torment him to the verge of insanity. The next time they meet face to face, the siren, who introduces himself as Neuvillette, insists that the entire situation has been a misunderstanding and even has the nerve to suggest they should become friends! With the horrors he put him through?! Absurd!
With all that said... life on a desolate island does get a bit lonely at times, and it seems that Neuvillette is able to relate to that notion more than anyone. Slowly but surely, Wriothesley finds himself drawn to the siren's charm more and more, and their unprecedented relationship might just end up being the key to dealing with some of his past regrets. As long as Neuvillette is able to suppress his wild instincts, that is...

Summary
Neuvillette has searched 1000 years for traces of his lover. He's all but given up, settling down in the outskirts of New Fontaine and making a life for himself as a detective. (He's had enough of deciding people's fates) A new vigilante appears on the scene and Neuvillette is tasked with catching him, but something about him feels way too familiar.
Wriothesley has decided that the police field is incompetent. Someone has to solve the cases that get swept under the rug. He meets a cute detective while taking a break for tea one day, one who he later learns is trying to arrest him. When a problem much bigger than him lands in his lap, he needs to work with the detective. Can he do so without giving away his identity?
TLDR: Detective/Vigilante AU with extra angst (as a treat); Also reincarnation AU, with another part to go.
Disclaimers!
-This is a part 2 of a series, if you don't read the first, somethings will not make complete sense, but I don't think it matters that much to the overall plot.

Summary
You see, I do not often attend the ballet with a guest, with the exception of…”
Ah.
The silence Neuvillette allowed to permeate as they entered the Opera Epiclese’s enormous foyer was shockingly vulnerable. Wriothesley was never one to push touchy subjects, but he had been overtly interested in the obvious. Just why had their Hydro Archon withdrawn from her post, and how was the lone justice of Fontaine faring with the loss after close to five-hundred years spent in her presence?
Wriothesley kept pace with the Iudex’s metrical gait, watching him even as he handed his ticket to the ostiary.
“Well. This marks the first Swan Lake performance I will be observing unaccompanied.”
OR: Wriothesley's love for the symphony offers him insight into the Chief Justice of Fontaine's innermost thoughts and desires.
How he wishes he were a part of them.

Summary
Wriothesley's guts constricted, stomach bottoming out in a heated clench that punched his diaphragm down and turned his inhale into a pained gasp. Warmth flooded unbidden across the surface of his skin, ruddying his cheeks with blood.
Dear fucking gods. What was that scent?
It registered like a spice to his nose— rich, pungent, and potent enough to edge a sneeze. But unlike any spice he'd ever encountered, this scent carried its own connotation that his instincts recognized immediately.
This room smelled like power. It hung suspended in the air like a dense haze of fog. Pure and unadulterated. True and undeniable.
It made him want to kneel.
It made him want to crawl.
Wriothesley has spent so many years on suppressants that he's forgotten what it means to be an omega. That is, until he meets the one alpha whose scent is impossible to ignore.

Summary
‘They're first generation human,’ Admiral Skorg says. ‘A well-built and healthy find, if my initial reports are correct. Warriors amongst the stars until we plucked them from that wormhole.’
Tyrax hums with interest. First generation human biology is remarkably similar to their own, tied from hundreds of star-cycles past. Through their evolution, they have almost come full circle, particularly reproductively, or so Tyrax seems to remember. He will have time to research and consult his extensive library once the subjects have been settled into the laboratory. This should be easy, the test of his expertise not as daunting as he perhaps feared. He was expecting a challenge.

Summary
Wriothesley thought he'd managed to move on. It had been over fifteen years ago for gods sake. It hadn't caused him problems in years, he thought he'd finally managed to leave that part of himself behind, but as he starts slowly getting closer to the Chief Justice, to Neuvillette, it all starts to bubble back to the surface again. Maybe he hadn't moved on as much as he'd thought.
Nearly two decades later, more of the truth about what exactly Wriothesley's foster parents did starts coming to light.

Summary
Once, at the age of fifteen, at the lowest point of his life, Wriothesley encountered who could only be a god of the deep sea, serpentine and beautiful.
Afterwards he changed the course of his life forever, grew distanced from the water and from the memory, and forgot all about it. Up until he accepted the role of submarine captain for a deep-sea exploration mission, taking the helm of the old Iron Fortress.
Now, there would be no chance to forget the usurped sea dragon of his dreams and nightmares, not when they bled into reality.

Summary
Without a hint of hesitation, Wriothesley reaches for his hand again, this time holding it more loosely, rubbing his thumb against Neuvillette’s palm. Again, Neuvillette feels the heat through his gloves.
His teacup clinks against its saucer as Wriothesley pushes it away from him, placing the Tartaglia file next to it so they can draw closer to each other. “I’m always here,” the Duke says. “Whether it’s raining or not."
Following the events of the 4.0 Archon Quest, a pensive and melancholy Neuvillette goes to visit his old friend, the Duke Wriothesley at the Fortress of Meropide. A reaffirmation and confession ensues.

Summary
Neuvillette turns up his nose slightly at the thought of walking amongst the newborn race. Had the Cataclysm not just happened? Had these creatures already forgotten that they lost Egeria to the desert in the south? How can she easily ask him to walk amongst such arrogant creatures?
But then, his memories brought forth a smile; a smile so gentle and kind despite the life it had lived.
A life it will live.
Ah, this really is fate’s works in motion, he thinks somewhat bitterly. Whether he wants to or not, he has to accept Focalors’s invitation to the city and become their Chief Justice. It’s the only way for the future to unfold and for him to understand why he did what he did. It was a promise after all, the first he’s made.
For Fontaine to stand where it is, Time has decided to grace her powers unto Wriothesley by throwing him a thousand years into the past. After all, the Hydro Dragon must first understand humanity in order to pardon their sins, and who better to convince said Dragon to accept the position of the Iudex if not the one who will eventually hold his heart?

Summary
A visit to Meropide at ungodly hours - it's out of care. A conversation that must happen - a rough start but a wholesome end, out of faith.
He may have passed out and his mind could have been a place of disaster, but Wriothesley remembers the praise Neuvillette gave him about running Meropide. He remembers every encounter he had with the Judge – and maybe it’s selfish because his life on the scale of the Judge’s is something short and fleeting – but he hopes Neuvillette remembers too.
“How could you…” He starts under the other’s still patient, observing gaze.” How could you put that much faith in me?” Wriothesley hopes only he can hear how unsure his voice sounds.
But Neuvillette answers quickly and simply, “I still do.”

Summary
“It’s funny, in hindsight. I got the odd thought one day of how weird it would be if one day there were two Monsieur Neuvillettes. Then it got me really thinking. Y’know.” Wriothesley eventually voices, and his eyes return expectantly to Neuvillette’s. Searching. Neuvillette just blinks in confusion and Wriothesley huffs in such painfully fond exasperation it does odd things to Neuvillette’s own heart. “Right.”

The unconditional love of Neuvillette floods through Wriothesley, washing over his soul and soothing it, turning it into his epiphany – because no matter what, he is enough for Neuvillette.

As if Neuvillette would hear his thoughts, he speaks while he holds him still, tender arms pulling him closer, light fingers caressing his bare skin. He nudges Wriothesley to lean into his shoulder with his full weight, as if he would say, I am here.
Wriothesley almost died yesterday - and now he is the caged prisoner of his body, incapable and helpless like he hasn't been in a long time. To see and to be seen – it’s also a form of love between them. Neuvillette cares and helps, if Wriothesley lets him.
- or, the introspective fic no one asked for about what it means to be vulnerable and powerless for a man who made himself to be the protector of the innocents, his body a tool of his ideals

Summary
It was always a breath of fresh air when Wriothesley was called up to the surface. And it seemed like he was being called up by the Chief Justice more and more these days.
At first, it was your typical parlay between dignitaries. Wriothesley had officially taken his post with little to no fanfare, but plenty of eyes were still upon him for a fair few good reasons.
Yet a very specific set of eyes were taking in each of their many meetings into account when settling firmly on an opinion of Wriothesley; a personal opinion as well as a professional one. The Duke had fallen under the gaze of the Chief Justice, who seemed intent on taking as long as necessary to thoroughly make a judgment of his present character.
A judgment that was taking quite some time to decide upon.
Still, the Duke gladly humored him.
Though certain feelings started to stir despite himself…
