And oh, god, Joke didn’t think about it. The teasing from Tattoo and the others when they found out that he and Jack started dating was bad enough, he can’t even begin to imagine how they will react to this now.
“They’re going to be insufferable, aren’t they?”
Jack laughs, and Joke with him.
“Definitely”.
(Or, five times people notice the matching rings on their fingers and Jack and Joke have to tell them they're not going to get married any time soon, and that one time they decide that perhaps the time has come for real).

Summary
Jack will give Joke his forever, however long that is. And he knows he has Joke's, probably has had it since the very first time they met. Just the thought makes his heart grow ten times larger; he's not even sure how it still manages to fit inside his ribcage at this point.
“You're thinking about something cheesy”, Joke says, looking up at him. His smile is the most beautiful thing Jack has ever seen.
He laughs softly and links their fingers together again.
“Me? Never”.

It was over, Jack was safe now. It was all over.
He held his hand tightly, brought it against his lips in a stolen and lingering kiss.
“I’m sorry”, he murmured. “It’s my fault”.
(Set after episode 11. Jack gets shot to protect Joke. Of course, Joke blames himself).

Summary
Bert fiddled with the piece of paper Gerard had quickly scribbled his name on. On the back was another sentence, and a little drawing. “Care to join me for lunch? 12:30.” It said, next to a doodle of a sandwich and a teacup. While Gerard explained something else, Bert held the note between his fore and middle fingers and raised his eyebrows at him. “Look at yours,” he mouthed. Gerard got the hint and flashed a look at the paper behind his lamp as he spoke.
The note Bert had given him read, “Lunch? -B.”
