Summary
It was supposed to be a B mission, but Itachi ended up almost losing his life to the Monster of the Mist. At the end of it, he's sure he only got to be the one who walked out of Iron Country alive because he was the one that needed to live the most. He had to be home to finish the mission. He had to keep his part of Danzou's deal. But killing Kisame Hoshigaki changed all his plans.
Kisame never begged, not once in his life. The first time he did was when the Uchiha put him to sleep in that red bloody nightmare. Whatever force of the Universe listened to his desperate pleas, it had great expectations of what he was going to do with the new life he gained. He was reluctant, but he knew he couldn't disappoint.
Itachi and Kisame were the turning point of each other's lives, but they don't know that yet.

Itachi was patient. He knew how to wait for his turn to move and had always been cool headed enough not to miss it when it came. That was something that set him apart from his peers as a young driver. He didn't feel entitled to glory, recognition, or even a shot, he just took what he could take and trusted there would be more. He found comfort in knowing he would never be denied something that was meant for him. One way or another. That was why being in love with Kisame threw him completely off his game.
