‘M’brain’s leaking?’ Mikey asked, fear dropping into his gut and swirling into a smoothie of concern strong enough to wake him up. He opened his eyes to the sight of his cleverest brother flicking Raph in the forehead.
‘Don’t confuse him more!’ He looked back at Mikey and it took a moment for him to register the brown of his eyes among the watercolour splotches of green and purple. ‘Your brain is okay, Mikey. Well, I think so. I mean, I hope so…’
‘Now who’s confusing him?’ scolded Leo, voice tinged with disbelief.
Just some self-indulgent hurt/comfort featuring my favourite turtle, his bros, and his dad.

‘It’s Plants vs. Zombies, David. It’s about as violent as a wet sock.’
‘I just get so sad when the zombies eat the walnuts,’ whined David, his eyes glittering with the beginnings of tears. ‘They look so hurt and upset!’
‘Oh, God, this game is gonna turn you into one of those ultra-vegan freaks that only eat fruit that falls off the tree, isn’t it?’ Max stood up in his seat so that he was towering over David and poked a finger forcefully into his chest. ‘Suck it up, camp man. It’s either the walnuts or the entire garden. You gotta sacrifice the few to save the many.’
David huffed and crossed his arms. ‘I don’t believe that’s true at all. Everyone deserves to be saved.’
Max snorted in disbelief, plopping back into his seat and pulling his cup up to his face. He stared into the murky black liquid. ‘Not everyone can be,’ he muttered, taking a sip and feeling the bitter flavour coat his tongue.
There’s a lengthy silence before David speaks again and Max can feel his jade eyes carefully considering him.
‘Maybe not, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth trying.’

Summary
‘Something wrong?’ came a low rumble from the chest he’d tucked his head against the night before and Haru lamely craned his neck back to meet familiar eyes, immediately getting caught once again in their ineffability. Blue; green; grey: Daisuke Kambe hoarded colours as unintentionally as his accounts hoarded money, no matter how much of it he threw around like pocket lint. More frustrating still, he made those colours richer: realer, that is. They were all at once spoiled and also sparked into life by the smugness he held on his face now.
Haru wrinkled his nose. ‘You smell,’ he murmured, still muzzy with sleep and far too petulant for a thirty-year-old man.
‘No, I don’t,’ Daisuke replied, unmoved, and because Haru had nothing to say to refute that, he merely mumbled for the other man to shut up and tucked his head back under his chin, squeezing him tighter to quell the flow of warmth leaking from his chest. As it turned out, it only further spread the warmth between them.

‘Literally end me,’ said Keith, dropping his face into his palm.***

A slender hand popped up over the lip of the table from the floor, clicking to accept the call, and Hunk popped up on the screen. He barely had a second to get a ‘hello’ in before Lance was right up in the web-cam, shrieking.
‘HUNK, KEITH IS BULLYING ME, MAKE HIM STOP BULLYING ME.’
Hunk blinked in surprise, taking a moment to absorb the sight before him. ‘Um… stop bullying him… please? Why are you shirtless? Did I interrupt something?’
‘Just Lance being an idiot as usual,’ said Keith coolly.

It started with just a mild cough which was easily stifled, plus, a million bajillion prayers and finger crossings that his brothers didn't notice. Then it turned into a harsher cough, a runny nose, and an itchy, sore throat before the day was finished. He tried to hide it, but doing so made everything worse.
