All of that was to say that the dragon really could have found a much more valuable target then Techno if it had bothered to look around for more than 5 seconds before grabbing the first long haired royal in view.
Now Techno was stuck in a 70 ft tower in the middle of a forest with only a month’s supply of rations because the dragon had decided to kick the bucket not 3 days after kidnapping him.

He turned to Techno, "Big Man Tommy Innit at your service."
Wilbur let out a noise that sounded very much like a strangled seal. Tommy whipped his head around with the speed of a cobra, "Oi, what're you laughing at?"
They dissolved into an argument over whether or not Tommy was a Big Man while Philza sighed and rubbed at the space behind the feathers located near his ears. He turned around and led Techno up the gangplank while Tommy chased Wilbur around the loading area.
"I hope you recognize the terrible mistake you've made by agreeing to this job, mate."
Or: Techno is a human who hops on the SBI crew and is now trying to hide his trauma and humanity.

Robert knew it could happen. The damage to his back from the fall was immense, and there was a chance, but he didn't think it would happen. He didn't think his legs would give up on him. He didn't think there might be a way to fix it. He didn't think the team would care. Seems he got a lot wrong. Might as well take the time to find out who he is without the pressure of Mecha Man on his shoulders and the inability to use his legs. Lloyd Garmadon is used to being hated. That's just how his life works—if someone knows that he's the son of the warlord who attacks Ninjago City on a weekly basis, they hate his guts. That's why he's made sure that his team—the only people he's ever been happy with—don't know who he is behind the mask, with the small price attached that he doesn't know their identities, either. It's not like the rest of them know each other's, anyways, so it's not a big deal.
But then they find out.
The fact that Lloyd's elemental power makes him an empath doesn't help, either.
[Basically the premise of the movie pre-reveal with show elements and personalities, and Lloyd's Green Power is him being able to sense and be influenced by the emotions of those around him.]
