The Bats wouldn’t make it in time, Tim knew as he scrambled through the door leading onto the roof of Wayne Enterprises. He’d known it the second he’d hit the panic button right before his doors burst open, spilling tactical gear-clad goons into his office.

Summary
Kon writhed on the bed. He had no idea how long Tim had been gone, but Kon felt like it’d been days. Logically, there was no way that that was possible, since it was still dark out of the window, just like it had been when Tim had tied him up.
Tim was such an evil, evil genius.

Summary
Tim is five years old when he drowns in his parents' pool. He dies quietly, waiting for parents who love him, but will never be there, to realise that something is wrong. They never show up, and he sinks into oblivion.
When he wakes up and claws his way out of the water, the sun has set, and the lights of his house are on. He is cold and wet and his lungs burn.
But most of all, Tim is alone.
(If you die and no-one is there to see it, were you ever alive in the first place?)

Summary
This was not what Robby thought running with his husband would be like.
He’d pictured something… sexier. A sunrise jog along the riverside on a shared day off, maybe. Their hands brushing occasionally, Jack’s prosthetic catching the light, both of them panting in a way that was athletic but also a little suggestive. A post-run shower, steam fogging the mirror, Robby leaning into Jack’s shoulder as strong hands soaped down his back. Sweaty, sexy fun with his favorite person on the planet.
“Honey! Shoulders down, not up! Don’t watch your feet! Pick up the pace!”
Instead, he got this…

Summary
Frank knows he has an issue. He’s been trying to get through it for a while but it’s hard, really really hard. He’s reliant on things he knows he shouldn’t be. But after everything he’s been through he’s proud he’s not reliant on worse things. When he hurt his back months ago he wasn’t prepared for the pain to still be happening now. His brothers weren’t surprised.
Frank’s brothers were all younger than him, yet most had joined the family before he did. There was tension there, he felt left out and like he had missed out on having an actual family growing up. He still loved them all though. And now that Robby’s found out about his issue, maybe it's time to get back in contact with them. He’d been avoiding it since the accident but now seems like the time for him to ask for help. Easier said than done but he can at least try.

Summary
It sucked that Tim couldn't trust his family. They had either been his abusers or bystanders, but even when he tried to take himself off their hands, they clung to him like a sticky residue. Trapped, he felt like a mouse beneath a cat's paw, and he knew the only escape would be a clean-cut break with no room for interpretion.
Somehow, they made room for interpretation.
“Bruce,” Tim rasped, his discarded Red Robin suit a thousand pound weight in his hands, clean and ready to go in its case. “You don’t even *like* me.”
The truth dangled between them like a spider’s web clinging to separate walls. To no one’s shock, Batman said nothing. The only sounds in the cave were the shuffling of bats and Tim’s bike rumbling softly at the entrance, waiting patiently for him to make his escape.

Robby bows his head. He says, "If you are going to be there with me, in the waiting room, or, hell, sitting on the couch beside me, I feel like I need to justify who you are to me."
"It's the therapist's job to mind their business until you make your business theirs," Jack says.
"I thought it was the therapist's job to get all up in my business?"
Or,
Mike Robinavitch braves his first therapy session. Jack Abbot is his emotional support animal.

Summary
A rare shared day off gives Jack and Robby the chance for a quiet date in Pittsburgh. Warm drinks, bad jokes, soft hands brushing together on cold sidewalks. But when a mugger steps into their path, Jack’s instincts take over, revealing a fierce, protective side he’s spent years trying to keep buried.
Robby isn’t scared. Not even close. In fact...he is incredibly turned on.

“Sweetheart! I’m so glad you’re here,” Jack’s mother said, walking across the carpet in a hurry. “I was so worried about—oh!” She stopped midsentence, looking at Robby, who stood by Jack’s side. She turned back to Jack. “I must have misunderstood. When you asked to bring an important friend with you, I’d taken that to mean you had a new woman in your life.”
Jack could almost hear the quotes around “important friend” and flushed, glad he couldn’t see Robby’s reaction to his mother’s declaration.

Summary
He mutters, "I'm not letting go until you tell me what you're going to do when you've crossed state lines."
"I told you," Robby huffs, "Beer. Hot apple cider. Maybe a chicken pot pie on the porch of some good Samaritan who takes pity on me."
"Yeah? Chicken pot pie?" Jack hums, raising his eyebrows, receiving an affirming nod from the other. "Gonna go on a stereotypical-ass spirit journey? That's what you're going to do, Michael? That's the reason you hugged me like that? Like you were savoring it?"

And Michael Robinavitch would have gotten away with it, too, if it weren't for Jack Abbot.

After thirty years of knowing and loving (read: pining after) each other, you’d think Robby would have mentioned it before Jack is trying to get some long-awaited ass.

"Please, I'm fifty-three years old," he said, dismissive. "I've had every type of sex there is."
They were grabbing an early dinner before Jack went in for his shift, Robby on his day off. Robby telling tales on his day off, it seemed. Jack was practically required to scoff at him. "Like hell you have."
Robby leveled him with a look. "And how would you know?"
"Because I know you. And you have never once given up control."

Summary
“You’re bleeding,” Robby informs him. It comes out too casual.
“I am aware.”
Robby rubbed at his forehead tiredly, face scrunching. God, I miss Pittsburgh, he thinks distantly. At least home didn’t have idiots running around in leather. Or well, those idiots where just fetishes, not… whatever Batman was. “You planning to just… loom until it clots?”
“Leslie said-”
“Leslie’s not here. Sit down before you fall down.”
To his surprise, Batman obeys.
