Summary
What could have been, if Thorin and Thranduil had chosen diplomacy over pride when the dwarves were taken captive in Mirkwood. Finally acting as mature kings instead of quarrelsome rivals, they navigate politics, cultural differences, and a closeness unthinkable by the elven customs of intimacy.
Thorin was speechless; perplexed at multiple things at one. This: a 7,000 year old elvenking had recited the grueling tales of Morgoth and the sinking of entire continents without as much as batting an eye, but the implication that he was leading a touch-starved life rattled him so? And: by Mahal, did this very elvenking just gently pour warm water over his reclined head, or had he lost his grip on reality over too much orange wine? And: how was it possible that Thorin was not entirely repulsed by it?

Summary
As it dawns on Supreme Archangel Aziraphale that the Second Coming is too big of a mess to combat alone, he ventures to Hell and tries to reconcile with a certain demon acquaintance of his.
“Crowley, I… I want to be happy,” I choked out the words, aghast by the unfathomable hubris of this simple confession. “Angel’s ought not to be happy, ought not to want anything… but I can’t help finding myself in want of happiness,” I said again, words coming a little easier with each rephrase. “It just so happens you are not entirely absent from my ideas about what happiness could be.”
Alternating between POV Crowley and POV Aziraphale.

Summary
During the scene in which the actress fastened her studded leather collar tight around the directors neck, Aziraphale noticed it for the first time. Behind him, Crowley drew in a sharp breath and shifted slightly against his back.
“Is the film not to your liking, dear?” Aziraphale asked casually.
“N-no, ’s all good, just getting comfortable,” muttered Crowley, and took a long sip of his wine.
Later, the truth dawned on Aziraphale like a sudden sunrise bursting over a mountain ridge. Crowley was getting aroused watching this play of domination and submission.
“Now then,” Aziraphale offered after the film, “would you like me to indulge your fantasy?”

Summary
When orcs attack Dale during negotiations, the building collapses, trapping Thorin and Thranduil in a wine cellar. Thranduil is badly injured—impaled while saving Thorin's life. With rescue days away, Thorin must keep him alive with only improvised supplies.
In darkness, old enmities fade. They share honeyed bread and honest words impossible in throne rooms. Thranduil apologizes for past wrongs. Thorin admits he understands why. When fever strikes, Thorin holds him through it.
Forced proximity becomes trust, then something deeper. But rescue is coming, and they'll have to return to their separate kingdoms. Two kings from antagonistic peoples can't keep what they found in darkness, but both question what they're willing to risk to keep it.
