What initially looked like an acceptable long-term solution no longer is, so Kuai Liang is, once again, faced with the need to make difficult choices and decide his brother’s fate.Hanzo Hasashi, their guest from another timeline, doesn’t find what he’s looking for in this new timeline, but, before he returns home empty-handed, he finds something else instead, and offers a solution to Kuai Liang’s problem.

But that decision and its result make Lord Raiden get a better grasp of the situation and changes everything.However, both Smoke and Sub-Zero are left with their new bodies and have to adjust every single aspect of their life to their new circumstances. Summary
Late Han Dynasty, Empire’s remote northern frontier.

His younger brother, Kuai Liang, arrives from the capital to assist in studying and pacifying the borderlands through governance and Confucian ideals rather than force. But when he discovers a wounded tribesman sentenced to be ritually killed by his own people, every bit of order in the fortress is tested. As suspicion grows among the soldiers, superstition turning to paranoia, the brothers’ bond is threatened under the weight of guilt, desire, and conflicting love.
