Aether wasn't sure how he got the job in the first place. He'd been informed just before graduation that he'd been approved to work in a research lab that one of his teachers had supposedly sent his application to but it wasn't one he'd ever heard of before. Finding out he'd gotten a job at a place he'd never applied to was odd enough in itself but finding out he was there to observe and care for a mer? It all sounded like a children's story book, there was no way it could be real.
And yet, Xiao was there to remind him that it was very real whenever he thought he was dreaming.
