Summary
His blood was hot, head numbed in a feverish haze. The sickness he felt weighed heavy in his stomach, like a dark hollow pit. It was the same feeling of falling in your sleep into a pit of darkness and void, unsure of when your back would crash onto the floor. This time there was no end, no sudden ending to the darkness. It was just the falling, and the moment was horrifically slow.
All he saw was blood. On his hands, soaking deep into his pores. He had killed before, he was used to the metallic sent, he was used to the feeling of it covering his skin. This time was different. This time it was passionate. This time it felt like murder. He wanted to crawl out of his skin, disgusted and suffocated by the feeling of the scene before him.
A muffled voice made its way through his racing mind. “Nick?”

What’s harder, high school or the apocalypse?
Nick ran through the darkness, his feet blistering in his shoes. Flash lights and loud shouting men chased him as he fled for his life. Dogs were barking, and he could almost smell the bloodlust in the air. He could not outrun them if he tried.

Summary
(It is just smut)
You’re just jealous. That she kissed me, and not you,” Nick chuckled. He knew he was being childish, but he didn’t care. He was enjoying himself, but Troy wanted to deprive him of his enjoyment.
He watched as Troy’s eye twitched, and Nick could practically feel the fumes steaming off of him. Before he could insult him any further, Troy tuned him around a sharp corner, pressing him against the wall with his hand. His palm laid flat on his chest, and it wasn’t tender as usual, it was forceful and beckoning.

Summary
(The events leading up to the dam, and the aftermath)
Nick snickered. “I’m not negotiating, John. This is my suicide note.”
If it wasn’t for his family’s sake, he’d flip the switch right now, rather than listen to useless words coming from another power-drunken idiot. The proctor scanned Nick’s expression, finding nothing but coldness. He found it hard to believe that Nick wasn’t bluffing. “Certainly seems to be…”

Summary
He wondered if Hannibal would learn to perk up at the sound of Will’s uneven gait, meeting his eyes only after the last step. It would be learned without conscious noise- simple conditioning. Salivating at the sound of a bell, hungering at the sight of him. He wanted to be so deep inside Hannibal’s cathedral of a mind that the very sound of Will’s breath would set the beast’s brain on fire, pulling on chains with no will of its own.
For now, though, he needed to nurse the man back to health. All in good time.
In which both Hannibal and Will survive the fall, with Hannibal gravely injured and nonspeaking. They navigate this new dynamic and the aftermath of becoming through exchanging power, vulnerability, and ownership- something bright as hellfire, holy as the tail of the fallen morning star.
