The touch withdraws far too soon, and on a sudden impulse, Hiccup's hand shoots out, fingers closing around Viggo's wrist. He grips the soft, sturdy fabric there, tight enough that it would leave pale half-moons pressed into skin beneath, and draws it back toward himself.
His eyes crack open, just barely, enough to find Viggo's own through the dim; they catch what little light there is, glimmering, faintly, like grey pearls in black water.
Hiccup swallows. "It's okay."
