He opened and closed his mouth, clearly trying to gather his thoughts. It was disconcerting to see his brother so discombobulated, and the reminder of what Damian interrupted made him flush. Then, Timothy seemed to settle on something, embarrassment temporarily forgotten.
"You said 'Dad'. You just called Bruce 'Dad.'"

Summary
Damian is a trained assassin. He’s been training since he was four. He knew what was expected of him. The idea of killing anyone that got in his way was not foreign to him.
At ten years old, Damian Al Ghul has been given the task to kill Batman and earn his position as the heir to the demon.
It is all going well. Damian spends his nights tracking Batman and his days watching Bruce Wayne. In between watching his target he finds himself at a park, feeding and caring for the birds. This quickly becomes a part of his routine. Watch Bruce, feed the birds, watch Batman, plan, repeat.
What could possibly go wrong?

Steph and Tim laughed, but Damian still couldn’t rid himself of the pit continuing to form in his stomach. It clawed at him from the inside, daring him to fight it. He ignored it all the same, wishing he were anywhere else, breathing anywhere else.

“Wait!” Tim called out, panic rising in his chest as she paused at the door. “Bruce didn’t hurt me,” he blurted out, his voice rising with desperation. “He didn’t touch me, or hit me, or anything. He’s good to me.”
“I know,” she said, but her eyes were hard, a mixture of doubt and determination. It was clear that she didn’t fully believe him, and that realization settled like lead in his stomach, leaving him feeling more vulnerable than ever.
Bruce Wayne has never hurt or touched a child in his life. He won't. His children can’t fathom why anyone would think otherwise.

Bruce didn’t want to die.
But he could think of no death more beautiful for a dying father.
To have achieved it in protecting his son, cradled in the arms of a boy once too small to wrap his arms around his waist.
It pained him to leave his son so early, so abruptly, but if it had to happen, Bruce couldn’t think of a more worthwhile death.
“I love you.”
Bruce keeps dying. He does not know that he's already died multiple times today but his children do. And they're going to save him.
(Groundhog Day fic told entirely from the perspective of someone who doesn't remember the loop.)

i saw a prompt on tumbler the other day that was like "what if the JL didn't know the bats or their identities OR that they were related until some end of the world thing and i went yes absolutely- how can i make it all about my baby Damian tho? And so heres my attempt at that lol.
The Justice League's watched each robin come and go, and presumably grow, never questioning as to how Batman had a Robin. Or who they were. Were there multiple? They would respects the bats wishes at privacy. That all would be till the league has to help clean up metropolis post-alien invasion- and the newest Robin is missing. Everything’s okay in the end tho :)
