You wouldn't have to introduce a new person to Chris—he already likes me anyway—and you could tell Pepa so she'll stop setting you up on dates that don't go anywhere—"

“Mr. Diaz?”
Eddie looks up, wild-eyed and jittery, and sees a nurse standing in front of him. “Yeah?” he says, but his voice is thick with disuse so he clears his throat and tries again. “Is he okay?”
“The procedure went well,” they answer, nodding. “He’ll be waking up soon, if you want to come with me.”
He stands quickly, knocking his knee into the edge of the table in front of him so hard he knows it’s going to bruise. “I—yeah—I do. Please.” He scrubs a hand over his face and tosses his empty cup of coffee into the trash. “Thank you.”

“A misunderstanding?” Eddie asks, walking up behind Bobby. Then he catches sight of Buck, and everything in Eddie’s face just…stills. Buck stares back, unable to move even as the earth keeps rolling under his feet. I’m sorry, he thinks, and, I miss you, and, Does Chris ever ask about me?
He stays silent.

The 118 is selected as the first firehouse in Los Angeles to participate in the Safe Haven Baby Box, a program that allows babies to be surrendered safely and to not be completely abandoned. When the first baby is surrendered in the middle of the night, Buck can't help but get attached.

Summary
Ravi figures he has to be the last one to find out, especially since he’s finding out like this. He supposes that’s what he gets for bouncing around between the A shift and the B shift so much since he’s been back at the 118, but still.
It happens like this: he had been this close! like, minutes away from printing out a new tenant lease! when the prospective renter in question calls the leasing office and mentions that she won’t be needing the 1 bed, 1 bath walk up in Faircrest Heights any more because she snagged a 2 bath loft downtown that seemed like a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Summary
This is an alternate universe where Buck never became a first responder. Instead, he became a pediatrician in Los Angeles. He still eventually meets Eddie when he becomes Christopher’s new doctor, and that is when romance blooms.
Besides the first story, “Doctor Buck,” the other stories that follow should be able to be read in whatever order.

“Dude, did you know that Derek’s into dudes?” Scott asks the question as he shoves a folded piece of meat lover’s pizza in his mouth, last few words turning to mumbled mush.
Stiles tells himself that’s why he has to ask him to repeat it twice, even though Scott-talking-with-his-mouth-full is practically his second language, mastered when they were first graders, along with Scott-needs-to-use-his-puppy-eyes-now-because-words-are-hard-for-him-sometimes and Scott-talking-while-trying-to-pretend-he’s-not-having-an-asthma-attack (now a dead language thanks to the vigorous application of werewolfdom).
