Bilbo raised his eyebrows. “And you’ve come to the Shire to look for this someone? My, Gandalf, I wonder if you know Hobbits at all. They would tell you that adventures are nasty, disturbing, uncomfortable things. That they would make you late for dinner.” Bilbo recalled his own words perfectly. It had been something he and Gandalf had looked back on with bittersweet laughter.
This Gandalf however noticed his exact words. “Would they now? And what about you, mhm? What would you tell me about adventures?”

The Valar send Bilbo back in time, to the day where Gandalf asks him to join in an adventure. After living a lifetime of regret and suffering, he vows to change things for the better. For Thorin. For Frodo. But will he succeed?

Summary
The cold wind roared on top of the ramparts, the armies still with their breaths held, the company’s eyes wide and begging quietly for the nightmare to end. End it did, with a crash and cracking of bones.
Thorin Oakenshield, son of Thráin, son of Thrór, King under the Mountain, loosened his grip on the collar of Bilbo Baggins’ ragged blue coat. With nothing and no one to hold the hobbit back, the poor burglar tumbled down the stone slabs of dwarven architecture towards the ground. If he was shouting, the dwarves didn’t hear - wind muffled any screams or gasps as it kept roaring in their ears. The King under the Mountain went still as a statue and that was exactly how Fili remembered him in this moment - like stone, with all its worst qualities. Cold, emotionless, steady in his choice without an ounce of regret.
Thorin Oakenshield, King under the Mountain, did not live to see the Battle of Five Armies, for his own nephew Fili had slain him then and there on top of the acursed ramparts.

Summary
Finding an unconscious Bilbo in the thick of battle, Legolas takes him to the elf encampment to have the hobbit healed. Through that gesture began a series of events that leads to the revelation of Bilbo's pregnancy and an advise that urges Thranduil to keep Bilbo's survival a secret until the hobbit says he is ready. Of course, his best course of action for that was not to name Bilbo as Elf-Friend but Elf-Kin.
Unfortunately, he did not take determined Dwarven Kings, Princes and the like into account.

Guilty of the way he had treated his One, Thorin casts his pride aside to ask for the Woodland Realm's help in finding the Company's burglar in order to make amends at the very least. Not believing Bilbo could forgive him, Thorin wishes to earn the hobbit's trust and love once more even if it means casting tradition aside and courting his One in the ways of the hobbits
Unfortunately, Bilbo may be willing to forgive the Company and Thorin in words, his mind and heart is not yet ready to let go of the trauma and harm inflicted upon him.
