Summary
“Have you ever baked before?” Evelyn asks.
Peter shakes his head, eyes dropping to look downwards. Gluing themselves to the table. His fingers still.
“Can you make a latte? Or, a steamed milk hot cocoa?” Evelyn tilts her head, trying to catch Peter’s eyes.
He shakes his head again.
Evelyn takes a deep breath and lowers her eyes back onto Peter's application. “I couldn’t help but notice you’ve left a question blank. Why don’t we go over it now?” She prompts and begins to read the last question on the form. “Describe a specific situation where you have provided excellent customer service in your most recent position.”
“I haven’t done anything but mess a lot of things up for people.” Peter dismisses immediately.

Post No Way Home Peter Parker - As Spider-man - is hired at the small coffee shop named Grounds for Celebration in an attempt to get his life back together. At the same time it is revealed that Tony Stark hadn't actually died during the final battle against Thanos, of course Peter Parker hadn't been privy for that information.

Summary
Peter reaches out to touch the mechanic’s shoulder. Mr. Stark’s head snaps up the second Peter makes contact. It’s so fast that Peter stumbles backwards, pulling his hand back towards his chest. Almost as if he’d been burnt.
“I’m sorry,” Peter stutters, “I didn’t mean to disrupt you… I was just… You were.” Peter waves up and down to his mentor.
“I was what?” Mr. Stark’s voice is deep, coming from his throat. Almost like a growl. So sharp that it could cut if it had been a knife.
The ringing from his Spidey sense grows louder, more intense, as Mr. Stark gets up from his chair. Standing at his full height. Peter feels small then, standing there in Mr. Stark’s massive lab, when his mentor is clearly angry about something. What other explanations were there? Did he have a concussion? No, Peter couldn’t smell any alcohol on him, and Mr. Stark’s pupils were even, even if they were small, little pinpricks.
Cold, hard metal closes around Peter’s bicep, holding on so tightly that Peter can’t get free.
An Iron Man suit.

Summary
Peter pushes his nose right up against the glass, separating him and the Spiders. Staring wide-eyed, heart pounding with excitement, one of the spiders works on creating a brand-new web right in front of his eyes.
A soft hand grasped Peter’s shoulder, pulling him a few steps back. Before it moves to ruffle Peter’s hair instead. “Not too close, Bambino,” Tony says with a soft grin, “Bruce warned you that the spiders are skittish.”
Peter’s shoulders slump slightly, but he doesn’t argue with his dad. He obediently takes a full step backward and pushes his glass back into place with a routine nudge.
“Sorry, Dad,” Peter says honestly, looking up at the man with wide, innocent eyes.

“On a scale from one to ten?” Mr. Stark asks, holding up ten fingers, stepping up to fill out Peter’s vision. Blocking the massing sun that’s been shining blinding light into Peter’s sensitive eyes.
Peter hiccups, “I’m not hurt,” he argues weakly.
“I know,” Mr. Stark assures, stepping even closer, his voice a soft, gentle whisper. “Your senses, Pete, how bad is it?”

“It’s not about us!” Tony looks towards them again. A glimmer in his eyes. “Ladies and gentlemen, I’m happy to announce, that the future isn’t just on our shoulders anymore. All this wouldn’t have been possible, without the heir to Stark Industries, Peter Parker! So welcome back, to the Stark Expo.” Tony bows deeply, before making his way towards them.
Ned cheers loudly into his ear once more. Peter feels frozen in place.
Heir to Stark Industries…? Peter feels a knot form in his stomach. Tony wanted to leave the company to him. No, didn’t want to, he already had. Heir… Peter hadn’t agreed to that.
Arms fold around his shoulders and he has to fight every instinct in his body not to flinch back at Tony’s caring touch. “I- Tony… I’m not… I’m not sure I can-“

Summary
Tony Stark had hated the media for as long as he could remember.
Camera flashes, shouts for comment, gross invasions of privacy: these were all integral parts of Tony Stark’s world. Even as a toddler, he’d grown used to the concept that his life was not entirely his own. A part of him would always belong to the public.
It was a life he wouldn't wish on anyone. It was certainly a life he would never wish on Peter.

When Peter's Teacher announces that his Graduating Class's Senior Trip is going to be to Stark Industries, the place where Peter has an internship, and where he spends so much of his free time, he is... less than enthused. No one believes his Internship is real and frankly, he just doesn't want to deal with it, but between May and Mr. Stark, he doesn't really think he's going to get much of a choice.

Since the very first day Tony had met Peter he had wormed himself into Tony's heart. Now that damn kid has Tony wrapped around his little finger and quite honestly, to tell you the truth? Tony couldn't care less. Peter Parker is an amazing kid that Tony feels he doesn't really deserve to know, let alone share such a close bond with, but he’d be damned if he didn’t earn it.
