This sort of thing had been happening for as long as he could remember, that is, waking up for moments in between sleeping. Sometimes he used the opportunity to get up and carry on with his life; if sleep evaded him then why should he go crawling back to it? Other times he did go crawling back to it by shutting his eyes tighter.
He didn't know what had cursed him to this clear illness, Rui had read all about sleep patterns to know this was another thing to add to the 'not normal' list. Then again, he certainly didn't mind being not normal. There was always something to these moments that he'd live for.
