“Ah, well!” Sparkle releases her hold on Robin’s fingers, turning on her heel dramatically. “Can’t win ‘em all.”
Robin presses a hand to her head. Sunday will not like this outcome… she worries what will happen to Sparkle if he were to catch wind of this, as frustrated as she is with her. She sighs. “Perhaps you should have thought about that before preparing an occasion as exhausting as this for someone like me.”
“But you had fun, didn’t you?”
On a very special day, February 14th to be exact, commonly regarded as Valentines’ Day, love letters flood the entirety of Robin's locker.
Being the idealistic, well-mannered girl she is, she makes sure to read through every single one of them, and turn them all down with equal politeness. …Well, that’s what she would’ve done at the end of the day if it hadn’t been for her friend Aventurine ‘helping her out’ by tearing them up.
What happens, then, when this is the first time she gets a “love letter” from the school’s most famously aggravating prankster? One she has a particularly foggy memory of?

“Aren’t you scared?” I ask her. I’m smiling, but I’m not quite sure why. I always am.
“Of what?” She asks me back. She knows what, but now we’re playing my favorite game; cat and mouse. In the form of questions, of course.
“Well, isn’t the world ending out there? Shouldn’t we be afraid, and not sitting on a glitched-off Dreamscape roof?”
“Oh, that. Yeah. I guess the end is here.” She replies. Dejectedly. I imagine that she doesn’t really care. I sure wouldn’t, because I don’t now.
We sit there, waiting for something to happen.
A first-person character study exploring what might happen if a disaster happened on the planet of Penacony, distancing it from its original place in the stars and killing everyone on it. Well, almost everyone.
Sparkle and Robin take refuge in the Dreamscape that shouldn’t exist. They care a little less than they should. Okay… Maybe a lot less than they should.
