“She shared that honor with someone else,” Lan Zhan said, honestly. This was the easiest answer to offer about Sizhui’s origin. It was likely going to get harder. Or, well, more complicated. He had always told himself that if it came up, he’d tell Sizhui the truth, and, if there were ever the chance, that he’d want to tell Wei Ying. As it turned out, his guts were rolling with something disconcertingly close to fear.

The silencing wards on this place were made to last, but sometimes Lan Zhan thinks that is a pity. Wei Ying is beautiful on the verge of tears, like this, his cries choking off as his throat thickens, overstimulation wrecking him until all he can remember is Lan Zhan’s name. It’s amazing. It seems somewhat wrong that no one else can ever see this.
But, on the other hand... if anyone else ever saw this, Lan Zhan would certainly have to stab them.
