He had no home, and no one to help him.
Now he understood. At least with this one. This one was truly a beast undeserving of speech. This one... this one truly understood him, understood what it meant to be a filthy wretch wrapped in a stinking bag. A starving beast locked outside in the freezing cold in a barn. That’s what this Gregor was right now, after all.

Asking Kiryu on a date is supposed to be a joke. It’s just another in Majima’s long list of contrived reasons for Kiryu to get mad enough at him to fight him.
So he’s thrown for a loop when Kiryu doesn’t answer him by punching him in face, but by accepting.
Obviously Kiryu’s playing along, just like he did with the bartender scheme, and with Goromi, and everything else. Majima can work with that. There’s no way he’ll crack before Kiryu does.
Or: Majima commits to the bit so hard he ends up in a long-term relationship.
