And maybe that was all they needed. To know that they were okay, that life moved on and that time healed all wounds. Maybe they needed to plead and beg, to cry and scream, to make empty promises they may never fill, or to love and be loved in turn. Maybe all they needed was to show they loved each other—because loving Katsuki Bakugou was easy, and Izuku desperately needed life to be easy.

Summary
“How long?” Izuku asks, unable to decide which part of Katsuki's face he wants to look at. He grabs Katsuki's shirt again. He clenches it once, twice. “Kacchan, how long?”
What is Katsuki supposed to say here? He can't even remember what it was like not to feel this way. Can't remember when it began either, he only knows that it did. At some point it started and it never stopped. It grew and grew until he knew and he knew he shouldn't and Izuku would never, and the only option he had left was to bury it. Bury it and deny it and let it hurt, yet never say it. Not to himself, not to Izuku—not to anyone.
But Katsuki almost died. And Izuku is here, just like he always has been.
So Katsuki closes his eyes and listens, to the sound of Izuku just being, to the breath on Katsuki's face as his hair tickles his forehead. He opens his heavy eyelids and stares into shining green, and he utters: “For a while.”

Summary
There’s no exact science to it, but the flowers don’t start climbing up until the later stages. He’s had vines in his lungs for years. If he found out about it earlier, he’d probably have taken the surgery, probably cursed out the stupid cook and blamed him for the way his sullied lungs have been holding him back.
Now though, he isn’t so naive. Even without the excuse of something interfering with his respiration, he knows he simply wasn’t strong enough back then.
Zoro thinks of Sabaody, Thriller Bark, Enies Lobby; of the way a stupid, selfless idiot stood on a broken leg twice just to save his life, and how fucking scared he'd been at the thought of losing the foolish cook. He remembers dozens of other moments like that, and the far fewer, but closely held, instances of quiet affinity they’ve shared outside of a fight. Zoro thinks about how stubborn and single-minded he is in every other field of his life, and knows no surgery would ever stop this.Bookmarked by Dearghxst
