Summary
Ilya seems to have everything now. But then he sees his mom in a woman kissing her son's blonde curls after scolding him, and suddenly he's seeing his mom everywhere, and in everything. Grief is finding his cracks again, and he doesn't quite know what to do.

Once he talks himself into checking on Ilya at his Boston apartment (despite a glaring lack of booty-call texts) he in short order:
(1) finds Ilya with a fever,
(2) stumbles straight into Ilya's childhood trauma,
(3) meets Svetlana, and
(4) gets acquainted with old Russian cold remedies.--
