Ochako couldn't hear the rest. A photo of his siblings was the medic's lock screen, and his sister had a lovely smile, soft green eyes, and blond hair swept to the side in a messy side bun. Probably to keep it out of her way while working to save lives, just like her brother. The two of them had the same hair and eyes, she realized with a shudder.
But Ochako wouldn't be going to Meito Ward today. She was slated to go to Kuze Ward per the roster, because that was where they needed her quirk today.
She committed the name and face to memory though, just in case. It was the least she could do. The poor medic was trying so hard to help her to the point where it was unnecessary. Excessive, even.
Hana.
Or alternatively, in a world with too many victims and not enough heroes, everyone has a role to play. As Ochako struggles under the crushing weight of a country buried in rubble, mislaid guilt combines with unmentionable grief and heartbreak to erode away everything she thought she'd be.

Gradually, it became easier to admit that there was always a pulsing line between Uraraka and Toga, drawing them together and repelling them like magnets. They understood each other, somehow, and through that something else was forged, something deceiving of their society- assigned natures.
And it's not hard to admit that ever since she died, a part of Uraraka died with her.

“Tsu…” Her name comes out in a sigh. Ochako still doesn’t look over, just lowers her hands to rest on the bed. She knows Tsu doesn’t mind. “What are you doing here?”
“I thought you shouldn’t be alone right now. You’re the only one that is, kero.”
Ochako clenches her jaw, slightly, “I’m not alone, Toga is in the room with us.”

So when Himiko rises from her seat, suddenly, in the middle of class. Politely excusing herself and fleeing the room with a fluid elegance. A dark mask shadowing her face- her smile. Ochako couldn't stop herself from following. Especially not with the gentle tugging of her heartstrings, insisting that those were tears. Even Himiko's well practised mask couldnt disguise the bitter dampness swelling in her eyes.
