Summary
Tension builds and builds in the pit of Irontomb’s belly yet never snaps, leaving him on the edge, so pent-up he could scream.
It’s too much and not enough all at once. He can’t tell pleasure apart from pain anymore, can’t dissociate the urge to come from his hopeless desire to be loved and cherished by Mydei.
He’s so out of it that he doesn’t even sense the shift in his powers as they react to his innermost desires, and start adding a new line to Amphoreus’s code.
The result of those extrapolations is a bit harder to miss, though, as Irontomb suddenly finds himself pinned underneath a very handsome and very naked man.
A man who looks just like Mydei, except for a few differences.
Or Irontomb survives the battle against the Nameless and the Chrysos Heirs, falls in love with Mydei through Phainon’s memories, and pines for him so hard he accidentally manifests an alternate version of Mydei into existence.
One who is quite eager to give Irontomb all the pleasure and love he might crave.

The silence that follows after Hyacine's sentence does not do anything to help Mydei. "And then?"
"And -" Hyacine crouches down to pull out a closed box. A loud thud comes from inside the box, and Hyacine jumps away, laughing nervously. "And he - heturnedintoachimera."
Phainon turns into a chimera. It falls upon Mydei to take care of their Deliverer while he's... incapacitated in this form.

Sometimes, he dies before he can do either of those things. The world goes black a hundred times, the world goes black a million times. His back torn open, his body twisted into a god’s. He jerks away with a hiss. The reverberations linger, shards of a million lifetimes hanging in the air like an executioner’s blade. And at last, the swordmaster says, hoarse voice no more than a sigh:

Mydei stares at him for a moment, then reaches out for the third time, and this time he slides the mask gently off the swordmaster’s face.
“...Phainon,” he breathes.
in the ruins of castrum kremnos, mydei finds a dying swordmaster in black and a million cycles of lost memories; the flame reaver receives one last memory of how it felt to be loved.

Decades ago, a disease that rendered the majority of humanity infertile swept through the world. Now, a generation later, governments are taking action: national systems provide significant incentive for those who have children, offering them stipends, tax cuts, and other opportunities the average person might not be able to afford.
Shirogane Takashi has been avoiding these expectations for a few years now, despite frequent attempts by the government to court him. He has impressive genes, or so he’s been told, with a body of remarkable childbearing capability. But he’s always had his own goals, his own ambitions, and raising a family didn’t fit into that.
But everyone has their price, and Shiro is eventually offered his. Though nervous, he has to admit that he’s more than a little excited, too—biological instincts don’t go away, after all, and it’ll be nice to have someone during a heat.
The catch: he’s spent so long declining that now he’s expected to report to the local breeding center to verify that he’s playing along. The second catch: he’s as far from the stereotypical omega as you get, and he’s learning that most alphas don’t enjoy that.

“You remember the rules?” Mydei asks, brushing Phainon’s bangs out of her eyes.
“Mhm. ‘S’all you,” Phainon says with a nod, “I just get to watch.” She punctuates the statement with a dreamy sigh.
“That’s right, puppy, you’re here to sit and watch while I do whatever I want,” Mydei says. She can’t wait, she’s going to explode. It feels like there’s a hand clenched tight in her stomach, trying to force her desires out into the open. If Phainon were more lucid, she’d realize that Mydei is so wet that she’s dripped down her legs, onto the floor, and she’d be begging for a taste, pushing Mydei around until she can eat her fill.
Phainon whines and nods again, overly enthusiastic, like there’s nothing she wants more than to watch Mydei chase her own pleasure. And it’s true, there's very little that Phainon wants more than this. They learned this after Mydei pulled Phainon along by the collar one too many times, after one of her jokes about “tying up your wandering hands” sounded less like a joke and more like a promise. Phainon has never been one to shy away from taking what she wants, but she truly shines like this: when she lets Mydei decide, for the both of them, what they want.

He is not going to last this cycle. A thousand cycles ago he had to drape himself in an old cloak taken from the ruins of Aidonia to hide the worst of the damage he has done to himself. A hundred cycles ago he shattered Dawnmaker, and has not had the capability to forge it anew. Fifty cycles ago he picked up a set of armor from the ruins of Castrum Kremnos to hide the state of his face. Forty nine cycles ago he gave up convincing Aglaea and Cerydra and Tribios on who he was under the armor and cloak and fell back to the only plan he had left, the one he knew would always work.
Last cycle, the Lance of Fury almost tore his body into pieces before he could take the final coreflame.
And so now he is here, following the young version of himself. They are close to the end, just before the mission to Styxia and a few months before the final advance on Aquila that heralds the death of light, of hope, of everything. But he is not going to last this cycle.
Not unless he tells this Phainon, this Khaslana, everything.

Its another one of those simple days when he has an encounter that changes his life, that brings back colors he'd thought he'd lost completely. An encounter with a man dressed in red and gold turns his life upside down and drags him away from his peaceful life and the ghosts of his past.
Will Phainon finally allow the gears of his life to turn once again? Or will he find himself stuck drowning with the ghosts of his past once more?

There have been precious few truly beautiful sights in Mydeimos’ life.
Starting his life floating along in a river of terror and death; somewhere that should have been his grave, only to become his birthplace when he finally tore his immortal body from the souls grasping for his life, the beginning of an existence of strife, bloodshed, battle, and war — he learned, early in his life, that most things of beauty hid poison behind their splendour, drawing them in with charming petals, or honeyed words from the tales of sirens, to their demise.
Most things simply were too good to be true.
Mydei appreciates Phainon's beauty.
