It clicks at him again. There's an answering shiver in Yoshiki's ribs, a mix of fear and itchy curiosity. Against his better judgement he inches forward, lifting his hand into the space between them. The thing tracks his movements with a noiseless twitch.
"Do you feel other things the same, too? Like... if I touch you, can you feel it?"

“Sorry, Yoshiki,” Hikaru groans as tears come out of one eye and more of him comes out of the other. “Ughh, I don’t – ”
Yoshiki can see how hard he’s trying to calm himself down, but it just isn’t working.
“It’s ok,” Yoshiki says, quiet. “It’s ok. Instead of shovin’ it back inside completely, can you try just...lettin’ it out? Just a little bit?”
He has no clue how any of this works, but maybe a half-measure is better than trying to force it all at once.
“Okay,” Hikaru says, but it sounds like a sob. More of the unknowable, incomprehensible swirl leaks out into the dark room.
“Yoshiki – shit – ‘m sorry but can I…” Hikaru’s face – what’s visible behind the bloom of him – twists in a small kind of agony. “Can I touch you? Not much. Just – ”
It's been years since Hikaru first took the body of Yoshiki's dead best friend. Despite everything - every horror and hurt - they managed to find a home in each other. Not quite friends or family. More and not. What they have is complicated, but precious.
But when Yoshiki escapes their small town – to college, to Tokyo – Hikaru follows. And things start to change for them both.

'Hikaru' runs a thumb over Yoshiki's lips, and he jitters, skin jumping minusculely as if the touch is foreign. And maybe it is—the slide of something inhuman, warbling, splitting, crystallized into a goopy substance, cramped and shoved harshly beneath the folds of his skin. The feeling of something that seeps through the thin barrier between human and monster.
"Ease up a little…" 'Hikaru' murmurs, edging his chin down, "I'll try'n be quick."

Kafka didn’t know exactly when the way he looked at vice-captain Hoshina turned from mere admiration and awe into something more. One day he was admiring the way his muscles worked stretching his compression t-shirt as he re-enacted his fight with him (or, more exactly, with nº8) and the next he was struggling to concentrate on his private training, wanting to rip that same shirt off the vice-captain body in order to lick the sweat off his abs.
Aehm.
Point was, the only thing Kafka was absolutely sure of was that at nearly thirty-three years old, he should have been way past that phase of his life when just looking at a pretty person would get him all kind of flustered, but there he was: fighting Hoshina with his fists and fighting an erection with his mind.
Because apparently getting beat up by hot men did that for him. Figures.
