“That’s all demons do.” The way Jinu had looked at her had been lacerating. Furious with her for not understanding the truth, and furious with himself that it was the truth at all. “Feel.”
At the time, Rumi had scoffed, and dismissed the idea as just a demon's attempt to give himself a justification to be what he was. Demons were evil, pure and simple, with nothing more to it. But now, since the Honmoon was sealed, since all other demons were banished, and since Jinu sacrificed himself, she’s forced to shoulder that there isn’t a single other being left on the planet who understands what it means to feel so deeply that the world frays around you.
But Mira and Zoey are trying. God knows they’re trying.

They released Golden after they finished their tour and turned the Honmoon gold with their first performance. Rumi’s patterns went away, Zoey and Mira never found out, and that was that.
But Rumi doesn’t entirely remember that. Doesn’t remember the specifics. She doesn’t remember the celebrations they had when they saw the Honmoon gleam gold. She doesn’t remember talking to Celine after doing what she was trained to do. She doesn’t remember being given time off, flying to Jeju.
… Is this how it happens?
No, the Honmoon gently wraps itself around Rumi’s wrist, pink and blue and purple, this isn’t how it happens.
or: rumi is sure huntr/x defeated gwi-ma. she's sure that zoey and mira are her soulmates. she just can't quite remember how it happened.

Summary
This was, without a doubt, Mira's worst nightmare.
The woman to her left leant over her for the fourth time to talk to the person on her right, and Mira tore her headphones down - her over-ear, very expensive, noise cancelling headphones that apparently were completely useless when faced with whatever actual nonsense this woman was saying to her friend - to sit around her neck so she could say with venom, “Please switch seats with me. I'm begging you.”
“It's not allowed,” the purple-haired woman on her right said, her hands visibly tense on the armrests. On Mira's armrest. Everyone knew the person in the middle seat got both armrests. Fuck AirAsia for charging for allocated seating. “If you're not in your assigned seats they can't identify you from your teeth when you die.”
The ‘I'm stuck in the middle seat of an airplane and these two idiots won't swap seats to sit next to each other’ AU. Established Zorumi, a very grumpy Mira, and a six hour flight.

Mira sat up and peered at Rumi. Rumi didn't like that look; it felt uncomfortably like she could see right through her, like she could just tell Rumi wasn't asking an idle question. She was about to walk the question back, to change the topic, something, when Mira's eyes widened. Oh no—this was it; Rumi was done for.
“Oh my God,” said Mira. She narrowed her eyes and pointed an accusing finger at Rumi “You're thinking about having cute babies with that Saja Boy!”
(Or: Rumi tries to delicately soft launch the subject of hybrid human-demons; it doesn't go as planned.)

Rumi scoffs, turning her head to the side to make sure no one is looking at them before she jerks her hand out, grabbing the string of his hoodie, tugging him forward hard enough to nearly choke him.
“I’m trying—can you quit?—to help you!” Jinu hisses out, his voice strained and tight. “You helped me!”
“I didn’t want your help!” Rumi shoots back, tightening her grasp on the strings. “I never asked you to do this!”
Jinu sputters, his hands coming up to slap at her own. “You needed my help! You still do!”
“I do not!” Rumi protests. “You’re just—you’re too arrogant! You don’t know how to stay out of other people’s business! You thrive off of making my life as awful as you can!”
“You make it easy!” Jinu practically growls. This time, Rumi does let the strings go, grinning as Jinu yelps, nearly toppling over in his chair. It’s pretty much a miracle he manages to grab onto the table in time before he goes flying, and the furious scowl she gets is more than enough of a reward. “And they like this?"
(or, jinu gets his soul back early, and makes it his life goal to wingman for rumi who very much so does Not Want Him To Do That)

Despite HUNTR/X being the most popular Kpop duo in Korea, Jia has never listened to a single one of their songs, or gone to a show, or watched an interview.

Because Ryu Rumi, beloved friend and one of the most important people in the world, died when she was eighteen, when Yun Jia left her corpse in a hotel room in Seoul, and walked out wearing her skin.

What if, post-saving the world from certain ruin, things don't slot back into place quite as smoothly as the movie has led us to believe? Rumi has disappeared into herself, Mira is too afraid to find out why and Zoey can’t figure out how to be the thing that either of them needs. Maybe a multi-day trek through the mountains will help them sort through their issues. Then again, maybe not.

Summary
“You okay?” Zoey asks, her hand wrapped around Rumi’s. Mira’s hands are braced at her opposite shoulder, keeping her arm steady, and ow— that’s where the demon must have got her. She winces around a sharp inhale.
“You’re okay,” Mira says, firm. “Go slow. I think it dislocated your shoulder on top of scratching you up. Ripped your sweatshirt too, sorry. I know you liked this one.”
It takes Rumi a moment to register what she said. Then, in a move that makes her head spike with a pain that almost takes out her vision entirely, her focus snaps to her arm.
The sleeve of her hoodie is slashed open and gaping. Her patterns are out, shining in the morning sunlight, vivid even through the blood.
She’s up and away before either of them can stop her.

The first time Rumi gets hurt after the Idol Awards, a head wound and shock means she forgets that her team now knows about her patterns— and old habits die hard.

“Of us?”
The air punches out of Rumi’s lungs. No, she wants to say. Wants to mean it. Except her patterns glow in the same way Mira’s gok-do had against Zoey’s cheeks.
