Summary
Despite both Talokan and Wakanda's technological advancements, both nations wish to seal their alliance with a political marriage. According to their suggested treaty, only someone of equal rank is allowed to marry. Because of the nature of the Queen Mother's death, Shuri turns down K'uk'ulkan's proposal.
As next in line, Attuma can request someone who is of equal rank to marry. Okoye accepts the proposal as penance for her failures. Will she discover herself and a new life of love and acceptance?

“Compassion?” he asked almost incredulously. He moved closer to me. His warm breath hitting my face. “Didn't you just witness what happened here? A mother just lost her daughter. Talokan lost a dweller. I lost one of my children”
He walked past me, stopping in front of Nakia.
“What kind of compassion has been shown so far? Why should I show any?”
“Remember my proposal. Keep me here. For an indefinite period. In exchange for the two of them”.
Namor turned to me as if he wanted to see that I was serious.
“Keep me instead. Please.”

No matter how the shark man never wavered from his own convictions about her since that fateful night on the bridge.

"What we do not kill, we keep." Such was the way of the Talokanil.
With Shuri able to stop the fight between Attuma and Okoye on that damn bridge in Boston, an entirely new set of events was set in motion. For Okoye was taken to Talokan alongside the Princess and Riri. Yet war between the two nations still remained on the horizon after the retrieval of the trio by Nakia. That was until diplomacy determined their fates. For if Namor could not have Shuri, he would settle for an arranged marriage between the greatest generals of Wakanda and Talokan as a show of trust and allyship.
Under pressure that this unholy union would succeed, Okoye and Attuma found themselves thrown together. Whether or not they'd prove able to make amends was yet to be seen. All while both their nations were still under threat by colonizers targeting their precious vibranium.

Namor props himself up on his elbows to stare down at her. "What scared you, Princess?"
Shuri opens her eyes. There is a coy smile twitching at the corner of his lips. His eyes have darkened, reminding Shuri of a black hole, dark as they were endless, eager to devour.
