Summary
Millicent and her sisters were raised to be worshipped, to fight at the side of their mother, the great Goddess of Rot. However, only she was granted the ability to bloom and ascend after her death. After suffering years of nightmares and horrifying urges, Millicent decides to set out on a journey to find Malenia and return her vile "gift". But though she is her favored daughter, she is not her only daughter, and Mary, Maureen, Amy, and Pollyanna join her on her quest, each with questions and goals of their own.
Though they are strong, the Lands Between are dangerous, and even more so to those who have had so much knowledge kept from them.

The strangers came to Alabama in the days after World War I. Weird-looking fellers, with Mediterranean features and wild, dark curls that made them blend but not quite blend with the octoroons of the Mobile metropolitan area. They came from islands far away was all us Bamas knew, and were suited to a treacherous and luxe life on the water, which is why it was no surprise that they came to be the official custodians of the Oohapka Wetlands in the early 1970s, right when the government started giving two shits about Mother Earth and establishing national parks. They were “eccentric,” my mom used to say in a sour tone with her face twisted up like she’d eaten a lemon, but I remember them as more than South Bama’s resident environmentally-conscious oddballs. I remember them from the New Golden Age of Television, when Swamp Monarchy aired in the August of 2008 on A&E and ushered in a new era of reality TV that would only be just barely surpassed by Jersey Shore in pure trashy subcultural pizazz.

This 'story' is going to be a bunch of blurbs of Glenn's life as a kid/teen, especially focusing on his relationship with Bill and the Crash Pad. Keep an eye on the tags as I update these chapters because I'm sure they'll grow! This first chapter is...deceptively heavy, and most of these if not all are going to be told through a child/teen's eyes. So things are veiled until suddenly they won't be.
