Summary
This is an AU, obviously… starting in the bar scene that took place right after the MIMIC incident. Dazai’s ability isn’t as simple as it seems, he hid the secondary functions of No Longer Human from Mori as a precaution and in an effort to ensure himself a way out of his cooperation with Mori. Abandoning the mafia in a painfully betrayed haze, Dazai goes into hiding. Taking a bit to set up his future plans.
Chuuya meanwhile, is now walking around the base wearing a large cat with an oddly familiar patterning as a living scarf of sorts. The clingy feline his new favored coworker/companion.

“The Port Mafia is ruthless, and Mori even more so. He wouldn’t be above sacrificing others if it would push him closer to his goals. That’s why I left,” he explained, hoping the others would understand.
“Oh,” Atsushi said, a little confused. “I thought you left because you accidentally declared your love to Chuuya-san in a meeting.”
Dazai gasped. “That was an executive meeting!” he screeched. “How could you possibly know that?”
(or: Dazai has a crush, Chuuya just wonders how the pathetic kitten he picked up at 15 managed to survive this long)

After showing a little too much audacity in the Head Observant's presence, Danny was 'encouraged' to become a researcher of ectobiology (and later ecto-everything under the sun) in order to create a document that opposed his parents' harmful research. After years of writing it, and years of maturing rapidly without any credit, he finally decides to let his parents know who he really is, hoping that he can finally ask for help with his project, and learn to be open about his true self.
He'd be lying if he said he wasn't also doing it because of Vlad; getting to declare that his parents now know his secret is greatly amusing. On that note, Vlad finally gets to make up with his old friend. He even heals his inner child. (If only Jazz were here to see it.)

Summary
15 Feb '26 Update: Hope for the Future is complete. SoN is underway but slow going. While I will be posting chapter by chapter, I will not begin posting until I have it written through to the final fight. It's currently predicted to be well over 200k with at least 21 chapters. And even trying to rein it in, my chapters are always 10-15k. So please do not expect to have anything before March/April at the earliest. HoO is a lot heavier to write and motivation more difficult to find. I'll get there, it'll just take a bit longer. (And you would not believe the amount of actual academic research that has gone into SoN, it's an absolute monster, and will hopefully be worth the wait!)
___This is a continuation of the Percy, the Weirdest Prophet Apollo Has Ever Met Series. This series is for the Heroes of Olympus Arc.
The Weight of Expectations = A Prequel to the HoO Arc covering Jason, Reyna and Octavian up to the Battle of Manhattan, setting the stage for the Heroes of Olympus storyline.
