After he was finally discharged, Remus was angry. He wanted answers. How the hell had Mr Black figured it out in the first place? And why would he do that? Regulus Black is tired. Tired enough that, while interviewing for his dream job he apparently told his interviewer all about his fiancé and child (that he doesn't have). Actually, "told" is the wrong term. "Zoned out and nodded along" is a more fair assessment, really. He was snapped into reality when he started asking more specific questions about his partner. Which, always the compulsive liar and star people-pleaser when he panics, Regulus tells him that the kid being his partner's from a previous relationship and oh, now he's screwed.
James Potter has been a single dad since his fiancée broke off their engagement and disappeared. It's been a year and his friends are trying to convince him to put himself back out there, to date, to meet people, to get laid ffs. James just isn't ready to move on. To get them off his back, he convinces his best friend to stage a bunch of Instagram posts where you can't see his face to try to pass him off as his new boyfriend. Suddenly, his friends want to meet this boy he calls his little star. Problem is, Sirius isn't willing to keep up the charade. Now he has to find someone who looks like Sirius and is also crazy enough to agree to fake date him.

Oh how wrong he'd been. He had lost him to his family's darkness long before that obituary in the Daily Prophet declared him dead. He doesn't expect to recognize pieces of him when he finally manages to gather the strength to clear out his room for the Order. He doesn't expect to find his beloved little brother in whatever belongings are left in that room.
Just to grieve him all over again.

“What, exactly, does it mean? That they’re Unforgivable?” Even as preoccupied as he was, Sirius knew the question came out of his mouth well-formed, with a tone of polite and genuine curiosity. He’d had the ability beat into him, quite literally.
“Well,” his professor began, doing a decent job at hiding her disbelief that Sirius was participating in a lecture, “using any one of these curses on a fellow human being is highly illegal and punishable to the fullest extent of wizarding law.”
Sirius couldn’t help it, he let out a strangled sort of laugh. He must have heard her wrong. A tirade of thoughts flashed through his head, yet all he could manage to say was, “what?”
“These are very serious crimes, Mr. Black,” his professor lectured, perhaps mistaking his confusion for something else, “and using any one of them earns the witch or wizard a one-way trip to Azkaban.”
“Well, not everyone,” he replied, before his brain could stop him.
OR
Sirius doesn’t know Unforgivables are unforgivable until Hogwarts.

It is a godsend. It soothes and comforts the wolf giving Remus the peace he so desperately craves. He needs it like he needs nothing else and will do anything to keep it.
