“Busy chasing some imaginary idea that your son being sexually assaulted means that there’s going to be a full on invasion. Right. Busy.” Clark turns, refusing to look at him directly. “Bye, Bruce. I’ll see you around.”
He disappears into the building and Bruce is left behind on the sidewalk, feeling as if he’s just taken a hammer to the chest. Broken ribs prised apart to rip his heart from the limp, bloodied carcass left behind.

When she meets him, she knows she's going to kill him. But there's no reason she can't make him lose that tightly kept control first and bring him down to her animal level. **Non-con note** - for anyone who wants more detail about the context of this, it's hypothetical/imagined but wanted to make sure I was careful. Strongest reference to it is in chapter 3.
