"Illumi, you want to find Killua right?" Hisoka said in a neutral tone but his eyes twinkled from excitement, and he could barely contain a smile.
"Yes, of course," Illumi said earnestly
"But he runs or teleports away as soon as he notices you" Hisoka continued
"Yes, he is very competent at that even with the thing weighing him down" Illumi said somehow sounding proud and displeased at the same time.
"And Killua likes animals like, cute ones" Hisoka was now openly smiling
"That thing, seems to like animals and Killua is very kind, he still needs to learn a few lessons before he can take over as head of the Zoaldyck family" Illumi looked displeased with Hisoka
"So, you were a cute helpless animal, you would be able to get close to Killua" Hisoka made a tada hand gesture
"Probably, but Killua will likely still be on guard for such a trick, he has the most Zoaldyck potential in generations after all" Illumis looked more annoyed. "Hisoka, let’s get to the target-“
"I know someone who can turn us temporarily into a cute little kitten," Hisoka said. "Want to see if this trick actually works?" -

Summary

“No” was the last word that left Karl’s mouth before he died, sword gone through his heart.
When he woke up he was in the in-between again. This time there was a voice instead of books.
“told you you’d come back”Karl lives many lives on the dream SMP but gets killed every time while the in-between demands he fixes the timeline.

Scar pulled up his chat history with Grian one final time. Each of his messages were still lacking replies. Each still completely unread.
"No." Scar said sternly. "I'm coming with you."
Pearl seemed surprised by his reply, but she made no objection.
"Xisuma?" Scar said, holding the comm up to his ear once again.
"Scar, what is going on? Why are you and Pearl still there?"
Scar didn't answer his question, he only kept talking. "Cub owes me a favor. Tell him to take care of Jellie while I'm gone."
Before X could say anything back, Scar had hung up. He looked back up at Pearl, a strong feeling of determination settling in his bones.
"I'm not jumping to Season 10 yet. Not unless it's with Grian."
Pearl nodded, understanding him perfectly. "Then let’s go find him."

Or, Scar wakes up the morning after Secret Life ends to find that Grian is missing. On top of that, despite being the winner, his memories of all the past games haven’t returned to him. Him and the other previous winners of the traffic games suspect something is up, so they all hatch a plan to get Grian back and end the cycle of death games once and for all.

Scar creeps closer to where he can feel Cub. He doesn’t want to think the worst, he’s trying not to. But if it isn’t the worst, then Cub deserves to get a fright for scaring him like this anyway. Oh, Scar’s gonna get him but good if Cub did this for his own amusement!
So Scar is silent, he’s sneaky, he’s so close.
Close enough to hear Grian call out, bringing Cub to his side in an instant. Cub. In his full Vex aspect, wings and tail visible, skin pale, eyes glowing. Cub, floating beside Grian at attention, expression loose.
Close enough to hear Grian’s words.
“Good Vex.”
Scar’s wide, stricken eyes unable to look away from Grian petting Cub’s hair, Grian feeding purple magic sparks into Cub’s skin, into Cub’s wings, making Cub shiver into brighter glow with a satisfied lazy grin and a completely empty gaze.

Summary
The day after Scar breaks up with Grian, the dead come back to life. Knowing that venturing out alone is a death sentence, the sudden onset of the apocalypse forces them to stick together despite the tensions between them. In the wreckage of the world, they're forced to survive side-by-side, coming to terms with the fact that—try as they might—there's no one they trust more than each other.
“Go!” Grian shouts as the monster charges, putting his whole force into the blow.
Scar watches, frozen stiff as Grian fights until blood and gore and viscera mark the creature up like a Pollock painting.
“What are you waiting for?!” Grian snaps when he finally notices that Scar is still standing there. He grips his weapon tight and attacks a final time, slamming the zombie down—good and dead—and standing panting over top of it, strained but victorious. He starts rushing from the scene, calling back for Scar over his shoulder. “Run!”
And in a way that’s as familiar to him as breathing, Scar chases after him.
