Summary
“I had enough coffee to cause a heart attack on a small dog, so I’ll be good to go for the next twelve hours”.
“Cool”, he says, “A twelve hour long Valentine’s date”.
Samira doesn’t think he is implying a date between the two of them –despite his flirtatious energy and words towards her every so often, she doubts it is his intention now by the way he stands and talks. More like he just wants to make a correlation between the holiday and the fact that they are at work, but she can't let the chance slide.
“A Valentine’s date filled with blood and food poisoning?”, she says, clicking her tongue. “I expected more, really”.

Summary
Between midnight consults and dog-eared medical journals, Samira and Dr. Jack Abbot build an uneasy, electric understanding, until a shared weekend in the West Virginia mountains pulls them out of the Pitt and onto the open road, where the distance, the darkness, and the drive force them to confront what’s been growing between them all along.

Summary
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a very familiar figure walk in. She saw his salt and pepper curls first, followed by that stern resting look on his face, and glasses perched on top of a nose she knew so well. Samira blushed at the thought of that, at the thought of being beside him in the ER so often since PittFest that she knew his nose. She tracked as he walked into the restaurant, slowly maneuvering his way towards the bar without even seeing her. His eyes scanned the room, and then he saw her. His face shifted from restless confusion to a soft and excited recognition. In an instant, her nerves calmed down, and she waved at him.
“Dr. Abbott,” she said.
“Dr. Mohan,” he replied.------
Samira gets set up on a blind date.

“Guess it doesn’t matter as long as Abbot saw them.” Trinity waves her hand casually.
“Funny.” The word comes out clipped. Samira holds the syllables close to her chest.

Summary
What he doesn’t miss is the way the student goes to take the GlideScope right off of Mohan’s hands.
Jack forgets about gentleness.
“What are you doing?” He demands. Ogilvie turns, blinking owlishly.
“She called me over to intubate.”
Jack’s brows raise. Something white-hot and indignant straightens his spine. “She,” he scoffs. “Dr Mohan, your senior resident,” Jack pauses for emphasis, “Said absolutely no such thing."
OR: When Samira brings him in on a procedure, Ogilvie crosses the line from eagerness into disrespect. Jack is there to see it. He does not like what he sees.
