Shane looked up, curious.
“So being boring is genetic?”
He expected laughter. Or the way Shane would roll his eyes even as he melted, the way that made the teasing feel welcome.
Instead, Shane’s smile disappeared completely. It wasn’t dramatic. It just… went. Like a light switched off.
“Yeah,” Shane said, clearing his throat, forcing the word out before it could crack. “I guess so.”
He took a step back, creating space that felt suddenly necessary, like he might suffocate if he drifted any closer. Every instinct in him screamed to leave. To put distance between himself and this feeling and the source of it before it swallowed him whole

He stared at the message for a moment further, the words blurred from his unshed tears, before violently shaking his head to clear it and pressing his thumb on the delete button.
Except that's not what he did.
Shane watched in horror as the message went from just a draft to something he actually sent. He sent it.
He sent it.
OR
Instead of deleting the message in episode 2, Shane accidentaly sends it, prompting an entirely different ending to the entire scene.

Shane froze. Uh oh. He slowly turned to look down the hallway. The tall frame of a 6’2” Russian man stood in the doorway of his penthouse suite, face cloaked in shadows.
It was at this moment that Shane knew he was fucked. Maybe if he didn’t move, Rosanov wouldn’t see him?
Rosanov took another step, mouth open to say something else that would probably inspire equal parts fear and arousal in Shane, but he wasn’t sticking around to hear it.
He bolted for the fire exit.
