Cuando los mecánicos se retiraron de la pista para que los pilotos hicieran la vuelta de formación, hacía ya un rato largo que Franco tenía la vista fija en el alerón trasero del Red Bull de adelante. Trataba de adivinar los movimientos de Max para imitarlos. Se los imaginaba como si no hubiera de por medio un montón de capas de diferentes materiales definitivamente nada transparentes. La respiración pausada. Los ojos fijos en el repaso de los botones del volante entre las manos. El oído ajeno a los sonidos que no fueran el propio motor del monoplaza. Las piernas largas un poco flexionadas en contacto con el acelerador para mantener la velocidad constante de la vuelta de formación. La piel de la cara sensible a las leves variaciones de la brisa. El olor amaderado…
¿Por qué estaba pensando en el olor amaderado de Verstappen?
Franco sacudió la cabeza.

He’d always stood a few inches taller than Harry, but he suddenly seemed exceptionally tall and regal in his baby pink, velvet suit jacket, his smart black trousers and his crisp white shirt and matching white bow tie. His hair, though cut short at the sides and around the back, was longer and coifed back stylishly at the top. Did he… did he find Malfoy attractive?

Harry had expected a few things when returning for his Eighth Year. Rooming with Ron, a cheeky Firewhisky down at the pub, leaving his assignments to the last minute – those were all but certain to occur.
His list of certainties definitely hadn’t included McGonagall’s shake-up of the curriculum, which tasked the Eighth Years with the responsibility of parenthood for three weeks. Caring for a baby Transfigured from a sack of flour would have been alright if: 1) Malfoy wasn’t Harry’s assigned partner, 2) Their baby’s one goal in life wasn’t to spite Harry, and 3) Malfoy wasn’t infuriatingly good at fake parenthood.
