"Do you have a fever?" Blackbeard asks, voice hoarse.
Lucius cocks his head and says, "Don't think so. Do I look hot?" He winks.
Blackbeard lifts his hand and presses his fingers roughly against Lucius' forehead.
"What are you—"
"No fever," Blackbeard grunts and draws back. "Good. Didn't want to cut off your fucking hand."
Lucius drawls, "I'm touched."

Summary
[**Complete at 13 chapters**] A case of industrial espionage via blackmail lands on Cowley’s desk. He sends in Bodie and Doyle to pose as a gay couple attached to a 1930s-style dance band to flush out the blackmailers. This entails a 24/7 masquerade on their part, but as the case drags on with no move from the blackmailers, Doyle can no longer see the humour in their situation, unlike Bodie. Tensions grow between them, and the bait is taken just in time to save the case and their partnership.
