If there was thing Nai was certain about, it was that he and Vash were brothers. Sure, Vash was much older than him, and was born on Earth while he was born on the ship, but the bond between the two of them could not be explained in any way other than by true brotherhood. There was no mistaking it. Those differences were nothing to worry about.
Vash's humanity, on the other hand, proves itself to be the real problem between them. Thankfully, Vash being born a human was a simple mistake, one that Nai knew he had to fix, whether Vash wanted him to or not.

There’s a comfort to be found in the discomfort, though, something neither man will ever admit. It means when the night gets cold Wolfwood’s chest is a warmer pillow than the cheap motel cushion, and Vash’s flailing limbs are a better blanket than the threadbare one found beneath the bed - and that they shower two at a time so they can both savour the three minutes of running water their cheap room allots them. Most of all it means they sleep clinging together because the bed's too small for Wolfwood to comfortably spread his legs or for Vash to starfish on the dirty mattress, and for no other reason than that.
