Without even realizing, adults would hand him the keys to getting what he needed. Jason knew how to collect information, because adults found information valuable. And it was. It was free, easy to get, and easy to carry, so long as he kept his head clear and his facts straight.
Jason had information Batman could use. He knew it. He had thought it over all day, sitting on that moldy couch, eating stale saltines. Batman would definitely be interested in the information Jason had.Batman had become scary again, like the old stories Jason used to hear the goons in the area tell. Breaking bones, just barely keeping people alive. Batman didn’t kill, no, but sometimes? Sometimes living was worse, maybe.
Jason stayed crouched behind that dumpster, silent, because he simply couldn’t decide if Batman was far gone enough to make a kid wish he was dead.(Jason Todd knows how to get what he wants, and Batman tries to lure him to safety.)

Midoriya Izuku went missing for a week and turned up in a back alleyway with skills he's never even heard of and no memory of how he came by them. He resigns himself to never learning the truth of what happened to him, but he shouldn't waste this chance should he? He could become a hero with reflexes like these.

There's Han Wenqing, a mafia boss forced into working at his drug front, Tyranny Flowers. Selling flowers is most definitely not his thing, but when the government's on your tail, what can you do? Maybe flowers can distract them.
Ye Xiu is the estranged heir of Excellent Era, the real estate company that owns all the buildings on Glory block. Of course, as the rebellious son he is, he becomes a tattoo artist and opens Happy Tattoos. Do they actually do tattoos at Happy tattoos? Who knows.
Then there's Blue Rain Coffee and Tiny Tea Herbs, two enemies forced to unite against a common threat, Samsara-Starbucks. What can you do when the new kid on the beverage block is a capitalist company? Blue Rain Coffee's answer is to fight them directly, but Tiny Tea Herbs is looking into a different market. After all, Tiny Herb does have many herbs, and now that Tyranny Flowers is actually selling flowers, who is going to sell drugs?
