_______AU where Martin Whitly was never arrested as The Surgeon. But someone else was.
Malcolm is doing great. After a traumatic event in his childhood, he's now been pill and nightmare free for years.
So, of course, that's when a new puzzling case lands in his well tailored lap. For some reason it reminds him of the work of infamous serial killer The Surgeon. But he was arrested over twenty years ago.He really shouldn't dig into it. Everyone tells him so. Not now that he's moved on from what happened *that night*. That night that he can't quite remember, when his father saved his life, and caught The Surgeon.
Soon strange visions start to haunt him, and the nightmares come back.
Good thing his dad is there to help and guide him.I'm going to update tags as I go, but expect violence, death, sex, blood, drugs and a shit tonne of whump.

This is for the Prodigies, who came up with the idea on Twitter, and I thought I'd give it a go. Turns out writing is hard!
It takes place during the episode 01x17 'Stranger Beside You', except the dream Malcolm has at the start goes a little differently.

The boy is probably drunk, most definitely high. He can see it in his eyes, smell it on him. He prepares drinks for them, something fruity and rich to mask the taste. The boy smiles at him, downs the drink in one go. Lestat smiles back.
There’s no turning back now.

“What do you want, Louis?” Lestat cuts in, narrowing his eyes salaciously. “Do you want me to beg for it?”
Louis’s lawyer opens his mouth, but Louis cuts him off, looking straight at Lestat.
“I have a string of new businesses,” Louis says, shrugging one shoulder, like all of this is casual. “Appealing to a specific type of clientele.”
Lestat’s top lip curls. “You want me to promote your clubs.”
“I do.”
He sighs. “I can make an Instagram tweet.”

Lestat has refused to speak to Louis since the book came out. Suddenly, in the middle of his rock tour, his account with Roget is drained. Louis has an interesting way for Lestat to get his money back.
