Jon was walking on the sidewalk with his hands in his jacket pockets, his head was sunk into his shoulders and his posture was hunched over. Damian pulled up alongside Jon, honking his horn to get his attention. "What are you still doing here?"
"I... I can't fly," Jon finally said. He turned toward the car that had slowed to keep pace with him and saw Damian tilt his head against his shoulder.
"Excuse me?"
"I said I can't fly."
"What do you mean?"
"I... I don't know." Jon looked at his hands and tried to use his X-ray vision, but when he couldn't see through them, he blinked and glanced worriedly at Damian. "I don't have my powers anymore."
Damian braked suddenly and parked next to the sidewalk, looking Jon straight in the eye. "If this is a joke, Jonathan..."
