“Maomao?” He presses, fingers closing over hers and lowering their joined hands to her lap, and she blinks in surprise at the use of her name. “What is it? What’s wrong?”
“Their technique is sloppy,” she answers honestly. “I feel strain on my heart. They should have targeted the nervous system instead.”
Master Jinshi stares at her like she’s spoken a foreign language he can’t even begin to try and understand. She tries to explain.
“Certain snake venoms cause coagulation of the blood, which could have been effective and made the blood unable to move through my veins, but if the end result is simply making my heart stop beating by targeting the muscles involv-”
“Maomao,” Master Jinshi says, very calmly, “I need you to stop speaking now.”
(an assassin tries to kill jinshi with a poisoned blade that gets maomao instead) (she is obviously much less concerned about this than everyone else)

Yellowfang met them at the enterance, a restless expression carved into her face. “Good. You’re back,” her sharp gaze travelled over the two cats and into the forest behind them, “Fireheart isn’t with you?”
“He isn’t back already?” The journey to the Thunderpath is less than half the journey they took to the Twolegplace, especially for a younger cat like Fireheart. Cinderpaw felt her chest tighten slightly, “Do you think he’s alright?”
“I watched Fireheart fight Brokenstar one-on-one as a ‘paw. He knows how to handle himself.”
Despite the medicine cat’s confident words, Cinderpaw felt that the reassurance was more for Yellowfang herself than anyone else. There was a sinking feeling in her stomach that her mentor was in trouble.
OR: Fireheart gets hit by the car instead of Cinderpaw.

What if, upon Leafpool receiving the "Bramble claws" omen towards the end of Sunset, she read it instead as "Thorn claws"? After all, one of those two was eligible for the deputyhood, and it wasn't Brambleclaw.
...After getting turned down for the deputyhood, Brambleclaw has a realization. Several realizations, in fact.

"Sources of food and water in the dungeon were scarce, and supposedly this was one of the more dangerous levels, where even entire parties of adventurers could get wiped out by monsters. All of the ninjas had clearly been no match for the dragon—it had easily taken out several of them when Izutsumi left. Even if she was able to feed and hydrate herself, and fend off everything that tried to kill her, the hag in the back of her neck would appear at some point to finish her off if she couldn’t find Maizuru first. Which she wouldn’t, because they’d most likely gone back to the surface, and it had taken the entire party days to get this far on foot.
Meaning they’d essentially left her here to die."
OR: What Izutsumi was up to in between her appearances in episodes 17 and 18 of the anime.

She paused then, watching it gasp and shake, slumped over one prong of the hoverboard. Valerie felt a low burn of satisfaction in her belly, seeing the focus of her hatred weak and trembling, that stupid smirk gone from its face. Just like crushing a fly.
“I fucking bet you’re sorry,” she whispered to it.
Then a broad, white ring appeared around its waist, and Valerie’s heart stopped.
“No,” she heard herself say.
Unsympathetic, the ring split, sweeping over Phantom’s body in the same clean motion that Ellie’s did, leaving Danny in Phantom’s place, limp and unconscious.
“NO!”
…They. They didn’t even look different.
“DANNY!”

“The oxygen levels shouldn’t have deteriorated yet,” he heard Val say as Thor bit out a curse.
Though his brother’s voice was lower now, Loki could still make out the words. “He’s panicking…”
A security malfunction aboard the Statesman sends Loki into a panic. Though he claims to be fine afterwards, Thor knows his brother well. He can tell when pain is bubbling beneath the surface of the prince’s cool facade. Knowing his brother is in pain is one thing, however, getting Loki to talk about said pain is a completely different playing field.
