Recovery is not linear, when it comes to most things. In Kyle's case, especially, recovery fails to be as fast as he wishes it could be. Every night it seems he still has nightmares about blue eyes, being hunted, and ultimately being used as a means to the Demonic God's end.
At least, that's what they all thought.
Kyle's soul had always been special. Some things are inexorable, when you are torn in more than one direction with your identity. Kyle discovers that he's not as alone as he thought with his trauma.
A fic exploring Kyle's recovery from the events of Grand Chase: Dimensional Chaser, in which the dead are not quite dead, and everyone wants to move on but the bindings of fate.
Our fic, "Useless Memories," is functionally canon to this fic, but should be supplemental at most (unnecessary to read, but check it out if you want to!). Also, please note that I haven't been able to read Cindy's likeability, so if this fic contradicts with anything in that, that absolutely was not intended.

Summary
The Grand Champion, Ashtaroth, right hand of Thanatos, is one of the most well-respected people in all of Xenia. Powerful, noble, virtuous… He has spent his whole life dedicated to justice and the protection of everyone, ignorant that he harbors the spirit within him responsible for all the ails he fights.
Baldinar ruminates on the man he possesses, until there is no other man left in the same body as him. He is everything Ashtaroth is not— and yet, it will be all too easy to trick people into thinking he is as good as the Grand Champion until it's too late to stop his sinister plans.
An exploration into the tragedy of the Highlanders, from the perspective of Baldinar.

Summary

Baldinar Le Mudias, Prime Minister of Kounat, was not always evil. Some part of him to this day remains virtuous, despite his actions, clinging to that desire to see everyone safe and happy, to protect everyone even if now he had threatened those very people he promised to protect. Once, he was simply a man in love who wanted to protect his country and the world, well-liked, well-trusted by his people. And then one day he was a bit less loved, a bit less trusted, and he slowly turned to walk a path that never should have been.
Grief is an awfully misguiding presence. One must be careful not to follow it to the ends of the world.
(A story about Baldinar's descent into villainy, expanding on some of the cutscenes from GC and GC:DC. Works from the rest of the Useless Drabbles series are considered mostly canon to this one--- though some of that writing is a little outdated and will be revisited in this one, lol. Updates approximately once every 2 weeks! Currently behind on updates.)

Summary
"I wish to go back… when I could be… like my past self."
Baldinar is an echo of who he was, but memories are made to be forgotten. Regrets are nothing but an indulgent distraction he has not craved in the centuries since he discarded that name. He has forgotten the Prime Minister, all but the pain and misery that drove him to take Ashtaroth's footsteps and bring ruination to this world.
When an old friend of the dead Prime Minister's shows up the night he is planning to execute the Grand Chase, old sorrows contort into rage.
There's nothing more he'd love to do than wring Kassias's neck.
"Emotions… they fade as time passes. Like mine..."
Seeing what his friend has become, Grandiel must contend with whether his feelings for Baldinar have disappeared in his lonely time reflecting within the Phantasmal Sector. On one hand is the lively and dignified Baldinar of his memories— on the other, bloodshed past comprehension. Surely that should be motivation enough to be rid of his memories, should it not?
Unfortunately, much as he would like them to, Grandiel cannot deny how much he misses that friend who once forced him to see the world's sunshine.

Summary
The last thing 43-year-old Paul Manchester wanted was to get sucked into another world- and definitely not when he's got work in the morning. But instead, he's stuck tagging along with his 11 year old son while he and his new "Digimon" best friend go on a journey to save the "Digital World," or something. His son Asher and his new bad influence don't seem nearly as bothered by the ordeal, so Paul is left on his own to navigate a whole new world of problems and solutions- that as he goes on, become more and more painfully apparent he'd long since outgrown...
Figure out That mess, and having to put up with the little creature that won't leave Paul's side, that is. At least it actually listens to him when he says something.
"Let's trust the boy, alright? The kids seem to know more about it than we do."

At age twelve, Peter Parker missed the Chitauri Invasion of New York City because he was having lunch and deciphering an ancient prophecy with his friends in some old ruins in another dimension, or for him, a typically Tuesday afternoon.
And finally, at age fourteen, Peter Parker was bitten by a radioactive spider, roped into becoming a (Junior) Avenger, and kicked off an ancient prophecy that would affect the fate of both worlds.

Summary

It had done you no favors when you had told your parents in no uncertain terms you wanted to be a writer, not a doctor, and that wasn’t going to change. You were following your dreams whether they liked it or not.
The fight had been legendary.
But you’re getting sidetracked. The blue, black, and white Porsche had been an hand-me-down, and you certainly hadn’t complained.
What came after, that might have warranted complaining.
